Don’t get me wrong — I love me some IKEA, but there are times when I wish I knew of other home decor stores to spend my money at. You know, stores where the furniture and decorations don’t look like they were constructed by 5 years old during playtime. And not that there’s anything wrong with that, but unless you’re investing in an entire IKEA setup (which I’m not), the act of shopping there doesn’t make me feel like much of a “big girl” even if I do have my own apartment and pay my own bills.
If you’re looking for other places to shop at that aren’t IKEA, this list has got you covered with both online and brick-and-mortar stores. While the price points may vary, every store listed has items that are not only affordable, but stylish and durable.

1. Target
Target’s become your one-stop shop for everything: toiletries, groceries, designer collections, and amazing home decor! These pieces are only a fraction of what the superstore has to offer.
Eyes On Walls was featured on Apartment Therapy’s list of best places to buy inexpensive wall art. While the selection is minimal, the prints that are available are great pieces that are sure to impress your guests.
Unless you’re from the South, you’ve probably never heard of Paul Michael, but the company specializes in American-made, handcrafted home decor. A lot of the pieces are made from natural materials that would look great in a modern organic or rustic home.
4. ModCloth
I absolutely love ModCloth’s selection of home decor. The pieces sold here are colorful, quirky, whimsical, and always inexpensive.
5. Society6
Society6 sells some pretty unique pieces your Bill Murray-loving friend is sure to love. In addition to celebrity-inspired throw pillows, the shop sells wall clocks in funny prints, stationary cards, tapestries, blankets, and much more.

Who doesn’t love TJ Maxx’s Home Goods store? It’s grown over the past couple of years to develop a massive cult following. Each Home Goods store has a different selection of pieces which makes it a fun weekend trip.

Last, but not least, Etsy is your go-to shop for any- and everything handcrafted and artisan. As you can imagine, the home & living section is huge so go into the site knowing exactly what it is you’re looking for to avoid being overwhelmed.
