Why do we like braids so much? 1) they’re easy to do once you get the hang of them and 2) the end result is amazing — they’re elegant and pretty at the same time. Lastly, and I think this is one we can all agree on: braids are incredibly versatile!

With all the talk surrounding messy buns, we’ve forgotten the effortless beauty of messy braids! A side-swept messy braid can easily blend in with any outfit because of its versatile look. Want to add some glam? Pair with pretty dazzling earrings and red lips for a sexier effect.

Do you have short hair? If you do, I bet you’re scrolling up and down this post looking for a braided hairstyle you can do. Look no further because this delicious, oh sorry, elegant hot crossed bun hairstyle is the one for you. And no, it’s not as hard as baking buns, if that’s what you’re thinking.

Let’s not forget the ladies who are still waxing nostalgic over the 60’s. This hippie braid is reminiscent of the good ol’ days when we were wild and carefree. This look is easily pulled off if you have long locks. May we suggest rocking your favorite pair of printed bellbottoms and peasant tunic?

A shout out to the best season of GoT — Season 5! This Game of Thrones braided hairstyle is the perfect way of incorporating your favorite TV show into your NYE party look. While we all hate Cersei (shame, shame, shame), we have to admit that she consistently has the best hairstyles of the show (well, second to Khaleesi, that is). This braid is inspired by the Queen Mother and will give your NYE outfit a very royal look.
13. Grecian Braid
If you’re looking for a hairstyle that’s glamcasual, I recommend the ever-romantic Grecian braid. This hairstyle is absolutely gorgeous and is one I can definitely see myself rocking with a formal dress.
