These are the tasks that we need to do before sleeping. Because when you sleep and your face or skin hasn’t been taken care of, it may lead to skin damage and bad skin on the next day and eventually in the long run. So to prevent that from happening, here are the major responsibilities you should fulfill to ensure a healthy skin.

 

Remove Makeup

One of the things that are a definite no-no is to sleep with your makeup still clinging to your face. Remove them first with makeup remover. Petroleum jelly is also a good choice. Just dab some on a cotton pad or a wipe and use it to remove the makeup you put on during the day.

Make sure there is no leftover makeup by cleansing your face. You can either rinse it with water and face scrub or rub some face cleansing product that you have. Exfoliating helps minimize the pores in your face. But remember, do this once or twice a week only. Exfoliating more than twice a week will make your skin dry. Tone your Skin

Toners are also products that you shouldn’t buy carelessly. There are specific toners for different types of skins. Research what your skin type is and buy the proper toner for you. Applying toners, not only helps the skin but it also removes the leftover makeup and dirt if they were not removed by the first two processes.

 

Moisturize Your Skin

Applying moisturizers will help your skin fend off dryness while you are sleeping. Also, moisturizers should come after cleansing. When you make sure that your skin is thoroughly cleansed, some of the essential oils also get washed away. Moisturizers help replenish the lost minerals.

 

Apply Eye Cream

If you are having problems with eye bags and puffiness after you wake up,  applying eye cream before sleeping will solve this. Gently apply them around your eyes especially under it to replenish the skin surrounding your eyes.

 

Put on Some Lip Balm

Dry lips can also be observed after cleansing. This is because the dead skins on your face lips were being removed. Applying lip balm helps moisturize the lip area to prevent dryness and cracking.

 

Switch to Silk Pillow Cases

When you’re asleep, you do not know which way your face goes. It may rub on your pillow and if you have sturdy cloth for a pillow case, chances are the skin will be scratched. Silk’s smooth surface will not pull on your skin and it feels better than any other cloth.

 

Mind Your Sleeping Position

Train yourself not to sleep face down. This habit can cause premature wrinkles and creases. I’m pretty sure nobody wants that. So, It’s better to position yourself properly while sleeping. This will also prevent your face from rubbing against pillowcases and sheets.
