It’s one of the key secrets to looking fresh as ever, even with the notorious cold of the holiday season. Interested in taking the extra step in your skincare regimen? Keep on reading to see some of the best winter beauty products I swear by.
Dry skin and chapped lips can be a total bummer. As much as I love sweater weather and all the hot chocolate drinks, the drop in temperature makes me shiver (literally) and leaves my skin feeling parched. I remember spending a week with chapped lips, ultra dry skin (that looks super crusty under makeup). I looked and felt horrible! Ever since that experience, I made it a mission to put skincare first–no matter the season. So here I am to give you tips and tricks of the winter skincare trade.
Say Goodbye To Dry Skin, Be Winter Beauty Ready
Over the years, I’ve taken to upping my moisturizing game during the winter season. I’ve tried and tested numerous products, taking note of the ones I’ve loved and the ones I’ve tossed. After all, skin care is important, right ladies? Check out my list of winter beauty essentials below!
1. Josie Maran Argan Oil

I tend to stray from anything oil-based during the warmer seasons, but when it’s cold, I turn to this product to leave my skin dewy and radiant. Josie Maran’s Argan Oil is a steal because it not only works wonders for my face, but it helps nourish my hair as well. Dual purpose, paraben-free, and a great product! What’s not to love?
- Repair & Restore - This multitasking body care product is made from one single ingredient, sourced straight from Mother Nature. Josie Maran's potent, 100% argan oil is naturally rich in nutrients and instantly moisturizes your hair, skin & nails for a newfound, healthy glow. Suitable for all skin types.
- Plump & Hydrate - Argan oil holds an abundance of antioxidants and essential fatty acids that improve the elasticity of your skin and give you a plumped complexion. Rich in other nutrients such as vitamin E & squalane oil, these components naturally occur in skin itself and act as a humectant and an emollient.
- Add Shine & Gloss - Doubling as a dry hair oil, this multi-tasking product will minimize the appearance of split ends or flyaways, revealing smoother, sleeker-looking hair. You can also use this everyday oil to condition dry nails and cuticles.
- How To Use - Use as a last step in your skincare routine to lock in hydration. Warm 2-4 drops into your hands and press into skin. Use as a facial moisturizer, cuticle oil, eye treatment or hair serum.
- Earth-First Beauty - At Josie Maran, all of our skin and body care products are Cruelty-Free with formulas that start with a clean slate. We seek effective, naturally derived & sustainable ingredients that never include sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances or chemical sunscreens.
2. Origins Plantscription Neck & Décolleté Treatment
A wise woman once told me that it’s not enough to moisturize the face. “The neck should never be left behind because it’ll show wrinkles and sag,” she said. During the winter, I double up on protection with Origins Plantscription Neck & Décolleté Treatment. I’ve been using this for a while now and I see an improvement in the texture and firmness of my neck. It’s one of my go-to products and I haven’t turned back since.
3. Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer
Origins has always worked well on my skin. I’ve used most of their products and swear by their GinZing line — this moisturizer included. The product glides on smoothly, makes my skin feel ultra moisturized, has a great smell, and is a testament to the phrase, “a little goes a long way”.
- A facial cream to instantly hydrate and rev up radiance.
- This lightweight, oil-free facial cream is fortified with legendary skin-boosters
- Size : 1. oz / 30 ml
4. Burt’s Bees Moisturizing Lip Balm
Somehow, even if I drink a lot of water, my lips end up getting chapped during the winter. The only way I remedy this is by applying Burt’s Bees Lip Balm liberally. Burt’s Bees is one of the only few lip balms that works on me, so I’ve stuck with it for quite a while now. My favorite’s the Wild Cherry lip flavor — I can’t get enough of the smell!
- LIP CARE: Bursting with all natural flavors, refresh and nourish your lips with Burt's Bees Moisturizing Lip Balm in six naturally nourishing flavors: Original Beeswax, Coconut & Pear, Vanilla Bean, Mango and Wild Cherry
- TOTAL HYDRATION: Hydrate and smooth dry lips with Beeswax and fruit extracts packed into every tube of Burt's Bees lip balm
- MOISTURIZING: Just one swipe of this conditioning lip balm leaves your lips smooth and refreshed
- ALL NATURAL: Enriched with 100% natural origin ingredients, this natural lip balm is formulated without parabens, phthalates, petrolatum or SLS
- BURT'S BEES LIP BALM 6 PACK: Whether you're looking for the refreshing tingle of Original Beeswax or a pop of fruity flavor, Burt's Bees knows how to naturally beautify and revitalize your lips
5. Philosophy Renewed Hope Moisture Mask
I try to schedule a 2x a week pamper ritual during the winter only because I feel like my skin deserves the extra attention. I like going all out on my home spa sessions too. I light a few candles in my bathroom, pick a colorful bath bomb, and bring out all my favorite products. I use the Philosophy Moisture Mask after my bath, right before I get into bed. It gives my face such a healthy glow in the morning.
6. The Body Shop Body Butter
My winter beauty essentials can’t be complete without body butter. The range that The Body Shop offers is so enticing that I’m making it a mission to try everything at least once. I’ve still got a long way to go but I’ve already got a growing list of my favorites. I just love how the body butter is long lasting and smells great. It’s a 5-star product in my book!
