Of course their red carpet looks are great, but it’s their Instagram pictures that we really like.
Thanks to Instagram, us mere mortals are able to feel closer to celebrities than ever before. Be that a good or bad thing, it’s still interesting to see the many pictures celebs post on their feeds, from stunning photos of their luxe getaways to their meals for the day to backstage selfies that make us feel like VIP guests.
To recap all of the highs, lows and doldrums of the year, we’re bringing together the best Instagram pics of 2015 from your favorite celebrities. These pictures blew up the internet, took us backstage and brought us just a little closer to the stars.
1. King Kylie

Kylie might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you gotta admit that the girl has style and confidence. Even if you don’t agree with what she’s doing, hawking, or how she dresses (and I’m sure 95% of moms in the world don’t), I still appreciate her genuine IDGAF attitude. As Will Rogers would say, “Girl’s drinking upstream from the herd.” Why do we love this photo? Because it’s the epitome of Kylie just doing her thing — you know, taking over the world and all. Get it, girl.
2. Bella Hadid
If you’re one of the very few (and clinically insane) people who has asked themselves, “Why is Bella Hadid a model?” then you need to look at this picture, which is essentially your answer to that question, life, the universe, and everything. In this picture, she’s flaunting gorgeous, I-can’t-believe-it’s-not-airbrushed skin that’s worthy of a #nomakeup hashtag. When someone wakes up and looks as good as she does, then of course they’re bound to be a model.
3. Beyonce

As everyone with access to the internet knows, Beyonce’s Instagram feed is amazing. From fashionable selfies to snaps of her royal-esque family, Beyonce’s feed is just one of the many reasons why she reigns supreme. Even with all of the great outfits and wonderful pictures of her chillin’ on a yacht, this one is my absolute favorite because, before being the entrepreneur and songstress that she is, she’s a mother and I am all about that. Isn’t this picture of her and Blue Ivy the sweetest?
4. Solange
6 months to the date….but really….7 years to the date:)
Solange’s marriage to video director Alan Ferguson marked the most Pinstagrammable wedding of the year. Her dress was beautiful, his tux was extraordinary and every picture they took set the bar even higher for Insta-wedding pics.
It’s safe to say that Solange has more style than all of the world’s biggest fashion designers lumped into one, which makes sense given that her music is out of this world. While I may not be the biggest Beyonce fanatic (don’t hate me), I’m still keeping it in the family with my love for Solange Knowles.
5. Gigi Hadid

Whenever I see Gigi Hadid, the first phrases I usually, and can’t help but, think are, “Oh my god, she’s so beautiful,” “Holy shit, how is she so beautiful?”, “she’s also a really nice person? How does that happen?” Judging by this picture snapped behind the set of the Seafolly Australia campaign, Gigi doesn’t need Photo Shop to make her look like the queen she is. In addition to Gigi’s natural beauty, she’s also a compassionate, genuine person who truly believes in making the world a better place. Maybe that’s her secret to natural radiance? If so, I really have to start being nicer *awkwardly smiles to the stranger on my left*.
6. Kendall Jenner
Now this is how you dress for an after party. Kendall Jenner’s feed is just as vivacious as Kylie’s, with lots of butt pics, even more butt pics, and the occasional, obligatory, “free the nipple” snap.
With this photo, it’s all about the outfit and we can always use some style inspiration. Especially when it’s coming from a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
7. Grimes
Talented, eloquent, intelligent and beautiful musician, Grimes, has quite the Instagram feed featuring candid pictures of what appears to be her everyday life and, in that vein, everyday outfits. I love Grimes’ individuality and self-confidence, which manifest themselves visually through her wacky outfits, off-kilter photos and amazing hair. What I appreciate most about Grimes is her honesty, articulate nature and outspoken candor. She’s not afraid to say what she thinks and, unlike other celebrities, what she thinks actually makes sense. Grimes is a huge proponent of female empowerment, individuality and equality, which is what makes her one of our favorite celebs. Never change, Claire. Never change.
8. Selena Gomez
I love being happy with me yall #theresmoretolove 😂
She’s no longer a witch of Waverly Place and this is the photo to prove it. Sure, it’s about loving yourself (which is what we’re all about), but it’s also the ol’ celebrity bikini pic that the internet has come to know and love.

9. Adele

While Adele recently created her Instagram account, there are already tons of great photos featuring Adele’s beautiful face with occasional behind-the-scenes snaps of her on set. This photo? A young Adele who probably had no idea she would grow up to be one of the world’s most powerful, most talented pop singers.
10. Taylor Swift
Someone knitted this sweater for me of a Polaroid of myself and gave it to my mom tonight at the show. It has very quickly become my everything. Thank you, mysterious knitter.

What a year it was in the celebrity world! People both blasted and lauded Kylie Jenner for her personal style and lips; Adele released her album, 25; Kim Kardashian named her son Saint West; Gigi Hadid put Instagram trolls through the ringer for attempting to body shame her; and, Taylor Swift finally found true love in Calvin Harris.
With a year like 2015, who knows what 2016 will bring? More great Instagram photos, we hope?
