Here’s a tip: skip any & every BOGO.
Ah, those pre-21 years where shopping at Forever 21 is a regular & acceptable occurrence and hangovers don’t last longer than an hour. Fast forward a few years and those hangovers last at least 24 hours and you feel kind of awkward perusing the aisles at your favorite fast-fashion superstore. I have absolutely no cure for all-day hangovers, but I can help you continue shopping at Forever without feeling (and looking) like a wannabe 20-year-old.
The following are some staples you can buy for cheap at Forever instead of spending 3x as much money elsewhere. These pieces are timeless and look good on women of all ages.
1. Turtleneck Sweaters
Turtlenecks are never going out of style. With a name like ‘turtlenecks’ that’s pretty surprising, but none the less, they are classic. They also seem to look good on everyone. I recommend opting for a comfortable turtleneck that’s not too loose but definitely not skin tight.
2. A Longline Coat
I remember being so envious of my mother’s coat collection when I was a little girl (still am). Buying nice coats is such an adult thing to do. But some of us adults prefer to spend our hard earned money on a vacation rather than a $300 coat from J.Crew.
3. A Classy Little Black Dress
Every woman should own a LBD. Forever 21 does have some more conservative options, you just have to search for them. I recommend buying online for this item, they have a much larger selection on the web.
4. Button Down Collared Shirts
You can never have too many collared shirts. They are great for layering under a blazer for work or pairing them with your favorite pair of jeans on the weekends.
5. A Black Fedora
Black hats go with everything. Fedoras are classy but can also be casual. Don’t spend money on designer options, get this budget buy instead.
6. Classic Black Trousers
You should definitely own trousers that are NOT from Forever 21. But when laundry day hits and you need a nice pair of pants to wear to work, these come in handy. Black goes with everything and makes the pants look nicer than they are.
7. Knee-High Boots
Faux leather > real leather. Save the animals, save some money. But for real, you probably own some nice leather boots that are your go-tos. But get a backup pair from Forever! Their shoes quality is great for the price.
8. Lots of Scarves
You can never have too many scarves. Even if you live in a place that barely has a winter. Forever has a nice selection of neutral-toned, nice-looking scarves. Good for women (and men) of ALL ages.
9. Comfy Sweaters
Forever 21 has a very large selection of sweaters in the Fall & Winter. Some of them are less than stellar quality, but some can last a long time if you follow the washing instructions. I recommend looking for the $25 and up sweaters and I think you’ll be pleased.
10. A Pair of Pumps
I LOVE pointed-toe pumps, but the store has a good selection of rounded-toe pumps as well.
