Decorative DIY Mirror For A Modern and Stylish Home
One good piece of home decor to put on your vast bare wall are mirrors. If you want one but can’t seem to find the right style for you, try making your own. Learn how to create this DIY starburst mirror. Everyone will surely think that you’re an interior decorator.
For this mirror, you’ll need:
- Circular Mirror
- Branches
- Gold Spray Paint
- Clipper
- Swiss Army Knife
- Glue Stick
- Glue Gun
Are you ready?
Step 1: Cut off the Branches
Grab the branches you brought from Ikea and cut them to a length based on the available space of your wall with the use of a clipper. Make sure the ends are not blunt. You can also shave the other end with a swiss army knife.
Step 2: Line Up the Branches
Mark an 8-inch space from the edge of the mirror. This will serve as the boundaries of the branches. Then line up the branches around the mirror. The length of the branches should vary and make sure that they are spread evenly through the circumference of the mirror.
Step 3: Glue the Branches
After lining up the branches, start gluing them with the glue gun and glue stick. Just be careful in using the hot glue.
When you’re done gluing all the branches, it will look like the image above.
Step 4: Spray Paint the Branches
Before painting the branches cover the mirror with paper and tape. The paper will protect the mirror from the paint.
Use a gold spray paint and apply it to the branches. Double coat for a fuller effect. Leave the project to dry for one day.
Now you’re ready to mount it on any wall that lacks decoration. It looks sparkly and stylish, right?
