Influential Yoga Personalities That Say You Can Do Yoga Too…

Yoga is taking social media by storm! Aside from my friends posting photos of their yoga poses and workouts in Facebook, we also have awesome yogis right at Instagram. There are hundreds of them–and I’m really glad people are loving the practice–but these are my favorites so far:

1. Honza and Claudine Lafond

Honza and Claudine Lafond are a power couple behind Yoga Beyond, which provides yoga classes and trainings all around the world. Their Instagram photos should tell you fitspiration can come in twos.

2. Jessamyn Stanley

The ultimate fat femme and body positive advocate, Jessamyn Stanley is out to prove that yoga is for everyone, including those who don’t fit the “thin and lean” stereotype. She has such a deep passion for yoga she’s a teacher now, sharing the same inspiration to all her students.

3. Patrick Beach

If you think yoga is for ladies only, then perhaps you haven’t met Patrick Beach. The scruffy beard and the chiseled face pale in comparison to the gorgeous yoga poses he can do. His Instagram photos also show that yoga can be done practically anywhere.

4. Laura Kasperzak

Laura Kasperzak is a fabulous yoga teacher, but her deep knowledge and expertise in the practice tend to come in second in what she does best: doing yoga with her daughter. No wonder her mini me is becoming a yoga superstar herself.

5. Rachel Brathen

With more than a million followers on Instagram, Rachel Brathen, with her charm and sunny smile, is one of the online queens of yoga. A Swedish native, she’s found a home in Central America and is currently one of the advocates and teachers of stand-up paddleboard yoga.

Don’t have time to hit the beach or ride the paddleboard? Here, Rachel Brathen shows you how to do a 10-minute yoga flow:

These influential yoga personalities are popular for a reason. They show us that yoga is for everyone and it can be fun. But it’s also important to work hard at becoming better at it every single day. As they say, no pain, no gain.
