What you will need in this RIO Olympics 2016 Flower Arrangement:
- Heliconia Flower (8 stems)
- Strelizia Leaves (3 leaves)
- Flexi Grass
- Bamboo Rings (40 rings)
- Cutter
- Tie
- Vase
How to start the flower arrangement:
Step 1. Cut the bamboo rings
Using a wood cutter. Cut ten bamboo rings in their circumference. This is to make a chain from looping them together to resemble the Olympic Rings.

Step 2. Loop the bamboo rings
Loop in each bamboo rings to form a chain. Repeat this step to make four set of chains in tens.
Step 3. Assemble
To start with the flower arrangement, take one Heliconia with one Strezilia leaf. Then, take one set of chain looped from Heliconia’s green stem and add them a few flexi grass. (Remember to hold the bouquet real tight)
Step 4. Form a curvature
Add another stem of Heliconia flower looping in the other end of the chain forming a curvature.
Step 5. Repeat
Repeat third and fourth steps carefully while you keep adding flexi grass after looping the bamboo ring chains with Heliconia’s green stem. (You can also get creative with it!)
Step 6. Tie
When you finish putting them together, hold the bouquet tightly and tie them using what tie that is available. (You can use a wire for this too.)
Step 7. Level the stems
After you’ve tightened the bundle, using your scissors cut off the overlapping stems of the plants to make the bouquet look even. When you’re done, you are now ready to put it in a vase and flaunt it as a center piece in your lovely home!
