How To Pack The Perfect Festival Bag

Festival season officially kicked off last weekend, so if you’re going to Coachella Weekend 2 or another music festival, it’s best to come prepared. Here’s how to pack the perfect festival bag.

How To Pack The Perfect Festival Bag

Festivals can be similar to camping where you have to rough it out a bit, especially if you’re going for the most hardcore of festival experiences. We’re talking no hotels, no restaurants, and definitely no pools. Unless you’re an A-Lister, that is.

If you’ve been to a music festival, you already know what the essentials are; if you’ve never been, it’s crucial you come prepared because you don’t want anything — even the smallest of things — to ruin your weekend.

So, without further ado, here’s how to pack a kick-ass festival bag.

1. Stick with Backpacks

Backpacks are the best bags to carry around during festivals. Avoid large, bulky bags that could be a hassle to carry around and small purses (but you weren’t really going to bring a purse to FYF, were you?)

2. Sleeping Gear

When it comes to sleeping gear, you’ll want something comfortable warm, and preferably inflatable. The more transportable, the better, as it will allow you to move freely from stage to stage.

3. Festival-Ready Clothes

You’ll be spending hours and hours under the hot sun, so the least you can do for yourself is bring something that will keep you cool; something that leaves a lot to the imagination. Pair your cute romper with a hat and you’re ready for a roarin’ good time.

4. Reusable Water Bottle

You’re going to be in the sun all weekend long, so in addition to your sunscreen, bring a water bottle you can refill on the go. Brita water bottles have a filter in them, making them an ideal festival choice, but who could resist the beauty of a S’well bottle?

5. Easy-to-Eat Food

While there will be plenty of food vendors on site, bringing your own snacks are a great way to get you in between meals and keep those energy levels up. It’s obvis to bring snacks that are packaged like zucchini chips, granola bars, and trail mix.

6. Essential Toiletries

Whatever you consider essentials depends on you and your lifestyle habits, but things you can’t forget are: sunscreen, lip balm, deodorant, baby wipes, rollerball fragrance, and bug repellant (hey, you never know).

Optional Add-Ons

Other essentials you might need are an umbrella, ibuprofen, binoculars, headphones, and a camera.

Power Charger

Your phone and other gadgets will definitely need charging, so instead of letting your battery die, bring a portable charger and stay in the know all weekend long!

Cash

Bring that cash! While plastic will be accepted, cash is so much easier to handle at festivals. You can also keep your budget in check with cash. Not quite the case with plastic.

Attending festivals is a great experience; it’s a time to be with your friends and other like-minded people, and enjoy amazing performances from inspiring artists. If this is your first time going to a festival, have fun! It’s a life-changing experience you’ll become addicted to.
