Part 2: 36 Outfit Hacks Every DIYer Should Know

In the first part of our Outfit Hacks series, you learned how to remove oil stains, brighten up white sneakers, zip yourself up, and a slew of other helpful tips. Now, we carry forward to learn even more fashion hacks.

Ready for part 2?

1. The J-Crew Cuff

Get that J. Crew cuff by folding, rolling, tugging, and scrunching the right way.

2. Polished Leather Shoes

Get leather boots back in tip-top condition with hair conditioner, gentle body wash and distilled vinegar.

3.  Removing Lint Balls

Get rid of those pesky lint balls by rubbing a pumice stone on your sweater and using a lint roller to remove the lint.

4. Gum on Clothes

We hate it when gum gets stuck to our clothes but what we hate even more is trying to take it out. Thankfully, this trick is here to save the day. Use ice to harden the gum and then you’ll be able to remove it quickly and painlessly.

5. Cleaning Patent Leather

Having trouble cleaning patent leather shoes or bags? Use Windex to bring back their signature shine and remove scuff marks.

6. Red Wine Stains

Do you love your wine? If so, remove red wine stains on clothes with white wine. Club soda also works fine, but why would you choose that over white wine?

7. Remove Sweat Stains

Are your shirts marred with unsightly yellow pit stains? Spray lemon juice on the stains before washing them to remove any discoloration. You can also use table salt, ammonia, or baking soda.

8. Remove Makeup on Clothes

To remove foundation on your shirt collars, use shaving cream. Spray shaving cream on the stain, let it sit for ten minutes, then use a light washcloth to gently rub the stain off.

9. DIY Double Hangers

Who knew these little things could be so useful? Use soda can caps as the cheap solution to having double hangers.

10. Waterproof Shoes

If you want to make your shoes waterproof, rub beeswax all over them and watch water droplets slide right off.

11. DIY Cap Toe Flats

Why buy a new pair when you can transform an old pair? Turn plain flats into golden cap toe flats by spraying gold paint on them. Genius, right?

12. Keeping Buttons in Place

We all hate it when we lose a button, so to ensure it never happens again keep them in place with clear nail polish.

13. Smelly Shoes

Are your shoes starting to smell? Put dry tea bags inside them to absorb the odor. Baking soda and charcoal also work!

14. Sweaty Pits

Say goodbye to pit stains by cutting a panty liner in half and sticking it to your armpit. By keeping sweat at bay, you’re also preventing discoloration, so hooray for killing two birds with one stone!

15. Keep Clothes on Hangers

Put rubber bands on the edge of your hangers to keep clothes from falling off.

16. Lipstick Stains

Got lipstick on your blouse? Use hairspray to remove it! Simply spray the stain, let it sit, then wipe the spot gently away.

17. Free Up Jean Space

If your jeans are a bit tight, loop a hair tie on the button hole and button to give your tummy extra space.

18. Fresh-Smelling Undies

Keep your underwear smelling fresh by putting a sachet of potpourri into your drawer. Our favorite scents are lavender and bergamot.
