Everything You Need In Your Travel Makeup Bag

Are you thinking about which makeup essentials you should bring to your voyage? Let me help you with that by giving you a list of the lovely stuff you should put in your travel makeup bag!

For people like us who love makeup so damn much, our travel bags shouldn’t just include clothes and toiletries. Makeup travel essentials are crucial in too. Just because you’re always out and about in another place, doesn’t mean you can’t be all dolled up and looking EXTRA pretty. So, whenever you travel, always fill your travel makeup bag with makeup essentials you can rely on.

Everything You Need In Your Travel Makeup Bag

I’m pretty sure you have a tendency to bring your whole makeup stash in your travel makeup bag but let’s face it, the tools and products that should end up inside this bag are the best of the best. So yes, it’s a tough decision to pick one over the other, but trust me, it will be worth it!  So, here is everything you need in your travel makeup bag:

1. Sephora Collection, Natural Resources: Full Face Brush Set

This must-have brush set contains all the brushes you need in your travel makeup bag. The set contains easy-to-use brushes with sleek designs that can be used for multitasking. I personally use the biggest brush for both contour, blush, and setting the face with powder.

2. Kevyn Aucoin Beauty Eyelash Curler

This is the best eyelash curler for your lashes. It features a rubber pad that bends lashes without leeways. This tool will curl and make your lashes look longer just the way you want it!

3. Dior Diorskin Forever Perfect Makeup Broad Spectrum 35

When looking for a makeup foundation, you would always want something that will make you look natural. I love the natural finish this foundation gives to my skin. Plus, your face gets the right protection from the heat with SPF 35.

*Tip: Don’t bring the whole bottle, transfer it to a smaller plastic container to minimize breakage and spills.

4. e.l.f. Mineral Infused Face Primer

e.l.f always has the best products at affordable prices. My favorite is their newest blush palette and this primer!  For your makeup to last all day long, this is the type of primer you need to include in your travel makeup bag. It doesn’t clog your pores, it corrects the dullness of your skin, and it combats oiliness.

5.  Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

I’ve read and heard a lot of good reviews for this setting spray. This setting spray from Urban Decay does make your makeup stay longer. If this is too expensive you can go for brands like NYX, L’Oreal, and Wet N’ Wild, they have great setting sprays too!

Tip: They have travel sizes of this at Sephora, go check it out!

6. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

For longer travels, I bring one full coverage foundation and one BB cream or tinted moisturizer for everyday use. This one from Maybelline is my absolute drugstore favorite! It brightens and smoothens my skin while keeping it hydrated and protected from the sun.

7. MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer

Another thing that you should include in your travel makeup bag is your Holy grail concealer. For me, it’s this one from MAC. It is a highly concentrated concealer that provides great coverage and banishes dark circles. Sometimes I just pat this under my eyes, set my whole face with powder and I’m done!

8. NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder

Everyone loves NARS beauty products. And fortunately, they also have the best powder you should bring in your travel makeup bag. This product is formulated with a Photochromic Technology that adjusts to light in your entire day of traveling. It works greatly with your makeup, hiding imperfections which make your skin fresh and smooth. I also use this to bake under my eyes and set my whole face. I love this stuff! For a cheaper alternative, Coty’s air spun powder is for you.

9. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

This gorgeous shade of blush is fused with Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powder that creates a unique streak on your cheeks. Unlike your ordinary blush, it accentuates the color to a multidimensional level, giving your cheeks a pop of color that looks sophisticated.

10. Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow 6 Pan in Jungle Pop

One thing that your travel makeup bag shouldn’t miss out is an eye shadow palette. This one from Lancôme contains a set of vivid colors for your day and night activities in your travel. It is also inspired by the Amazon Jungle which gives you something sultry yet neutral.

11. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick

In addition to my  colorful eyeshadow palette, I also bring my neutrals with me. If you need handy eyeshadow cream sticks, brands like Burberry, Bobbi Brown, and Laura Mercier and have it for you. I actually bring 4 shades of this in my travel makeup bag: black, warm brown, cool-toned brown, and a shimmery shade so I can also use them for my face as contour and highlight shades too.

12. Smashbox Step-by-Step Contour Kit

This multitasking beauty product sure does give you ease as a traveler! I use this both as eyeshadows and to set my cream contour (using the eyeshadow sticks) for days I want to look extra sculpted. (Yes I know, I’m high maintenance sometimes.) Here are other budget-friendly contour palettes you can bring with you.

13. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer

This 2-in-1 retractable eyebrow definer already has an angled tip that ables you to outline and fill your eyebrows. It’s a godsend! You need to have this in your travel makeup bag if you want eyebrows on fleek!

14. benefit they’re Real! Mascara

Mascara is one important beauty product you should have in your travel makeup bag ALWAYS. It’s essential to make your eyelashes look longer and to make your eyes pop. On lazy days, I put on my brows, mascara, concealer, lipstick and I’m done!

15. Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick

One important makeup product every woman should have is lipstick. I love this particular one from Clarins because it’s pigmented and it keeps my lips moisturized.

16. Bite Amuse Bouche Lipstick

Bite Beauty is such an underrated brand but I swear, their lipsticks are super pigmented and creamy! These are the best matte lipsticks for me because I have dry lips. You can also opt for Maybelline’s creamy mattes and other liquid lipsticks. Just remember to bring a few nude lipsticks, one bright bold color, and one dark color. If all else fails, mix them all together to get your desired shade!

17. Clinique Take the Day Off™ Micellar Cleansing Towelettes for Face & Eyes

And last but not the least! Wipes to cleanse your face and eyes after a long tiring day. It’s a pack of ready-to-go towelettes that remove makeup and dirt from your face and eyes. The towelettes are saturated with a gentle micellar cleansing liquid that won’t irritate your skin.
