Everyone & their mom bought a Powerball ticket for the drawing Saturday night. Hey, $2 is a small price to pay for a life-changing amount of money. I myself was pretty bummed when I didn’t win. But then I found out that no one had won! Now the record-breaking Powerball jackpot is up to $1.3 billion. Good luck to all of you for the drawing on Wednesday! If you do happen to be that lucky someone whose life is changed forever, I have a few ideas of what you should spend your big bucks on.
Here they are…
1. Buy name-brand toilet paper
This seems small, but to everyday working-class America, name-brand toilet paper is a luxury item.
2. Hire a personal chef
Yes. I went from 0-60 real quick. But hey, if you’ve got the money, why wouldn’t you hire someone to make you food anytime you’d like it.
3. Give some of the money away
Before we get too carried away, it’s important to remember your family & friends and the less fortunate at this exciting time. Give your loved ones some of the money then give some more out to your favorite charity.
4. Hire a really good lawyer
Or call the lawyer you already have. You can read more great advice about this here and here. It’s time to be responsible with your new fortune.
5. Quit your job
If you’re just over the whole working thing, leave that 9 to 5 in the dust. You can afford not to work for the rest of your life if you budget effectively.
6. If you don’t quit your day job, then take a year off to travel
I get it, you may really love your job. You don’t want to quit. At the very least, you should take a year-long hiatus and travel the world! Go to Greece, Russia, New Zealand, Alaska, anywhere your heart desires.
7. Hire a driver
You’re a billionaire millionaire now, you do not have to drive yourself around anymore. Delete that Uber app right now because your driver will take you anywhere you need to go. DREAM COME TRUE.
8. Buy a house mansion
This is probably the first thing most people think of doing when they dream of winning the lotto. You can even buy two homes if you can’t decide where to live. But don’t make impulse decisions, you can stay in your tiny apartment until you find the right home for you, you aren’t above it. Remember where you came from.
9. Invest in stock
It’s hard to see investing as a priority after you win the lottery (so I can imagine) but it’s super important. Hire a financial adviser and have them help you invest your money. You’ll be happy you did this later.
10. Hire Beyonce to sing at your next birthday party
Want to be serenaded by Queen Bee?! Well, you’re rich now, so you can make that happen. Please make it happen.
Whatever you do, please don’t spend your earnings like this guys wants to:
