16 Dream Destinations To Start Saving For

Going to my dream destinations is one of the things on my bucket list for 2017! I usually prep my list early into the year, allotting ample time for schedules and making sure that I get to visit at least 2 of the places throughout the year.

I’ve always loved traveling. There’s really nothing quite like the feeling of arriving at a new destination, bags in tow, ready to explore all that there is. It gives a sense of wonder. To me, it doesn’t matter how many countries I’ve visited in the past because my wanderlust gets heightened every time. Traveling lets me know that there is so much more to see in the world and that all I have to do is pick from my list.

16 Dream Destinations To Add To Your Bucket List Now

Every year, I make it a point to travel to my dream destinations. Whether it’s a quick trip to another state or a long haul flight to Asia, I always find a way to satisfy my wanderlust one way or another. I can’t help it. I’m obsessed with seeing the world and ticking off things on my adventure list. I love taking photos of monuments, eating to my stomach’s delight with all the exotic dishes available, and learning a new language — or maybe even two, or three.

Travel has always been one of my ways to treat myself. It’s one of the things I look forward to at the start of every year because that’s when I’ve a working list of dream destinations ready. It’s all a matter of choosing which ones can fit my schedule and which flights I can score for cheap.

Keep reading to see some of the places on my travel bucket list!

1. Blue Lagoon, Reykjanes Peninsula

Blue Lagoon, Reykjanes Peninsula | 16 Dream Destinations To Start Saving For

The Blue Lagoon is a geothermally-heated, mineral-rich pool of water that sits on the Reykjanes peninsula. One of the things the lagoon is famous for is the silica mud that rests at the bottom. It’s been said that smearing the mud on the face is good for the skin. Hopefully the Blue Lagoon ends up as a check mark on my list so I can find out if this is true!

2. Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries

Located in the western part of the Sichuan province, the sanctuaries serve as the home of more than 30% of the highly endangered pandas. In addition to pandas, the sanctuaries are one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world with over 6,000 species of flora and fauna. I’ll definitely be taking loads of photos if I go here.

3. Gardens By The Bay, Singapore

I have a thing for pretty flowers and gardens because there’s just something so magical about being surrounded by so many vivid colors. Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay is beyond spectacular because there are so many things to look at, both ground level and from high above.

4. Grand Canal, Venice

I’ve always wanted to go on a gondola ride. It’s one of the most romantic things in the world. I’ve heard some gondoliers even let you pop open a bottle of bubbly while on my ride. I can’t wait!

5. Parc Guell, Barcelona

Parc Guell is one of Gaudi’s many masterpieces and it’s a favorite of mine. I saw photos of Parc Guell all over my news feed once and just fell in love. The colorful mosaic tiles, the breathtaking view, the beautiful architecture, oh I could go on and on…

6. Puebla, Mexico

Mexico is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world! In addition to that, there is yet another UNESCO World Heritage site in this country and that is Puebla, Mexico. You’ll surely be amazed at the rich culture of this city. Oh, and the photo you see there is actually the church atop the world’s largest pyramid at Cholula.

7. Chewton Glen Treehouse, London

I’ve adored tree houses ever since I was a little girl. I was always so fascinated with them but was never really given a chance to sleep in one.  If my trip pushes through, I get to have my little 6 year old wish come true with the help of Chewton Glen’s treehouse! The interiors are so chic and cozy and I love how there’s a jacuzzi right on the balcony. It’s definitely going to be the best treehouse I’ve ever been in.

8. Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria

It’s been said that this is the castle that inspired Sleeping Beauty’s abode. Being a huge Disney fan myself, I think it’s only right that I pay homage to Princess Aurora and pay this a visit. What do you ladies think?

9. Positano, Italy

I know of people who’ve fallen in love with Positano that they actually visit every two years. Maybe it’s the lure of the colorful towns, or maybe it’s the beautiful sandy beaches. It could even be the fresh seafood served on the island. Whatever it is, I’m hoping I get a chance to tick Positano off my dream destinations list soon.

10. Nami Island, Korea

Nami Island is teeming with animals such as ostriches, deers, and squirrels that roam around freely. They’ve grown accustomed to tourists already that usually they won’t even hide from people anymore. I’m quite an animal lover so I’ve got to say that this one tugs at my heart a little stronger than all the others.

11. Hirosaki Castle Park, Japan

Love cherry blossoms? Then add this to your dream destinations list! I’ve seen so many picturesque images of the castle and how it peeks from behind the flowers of the cherry blossom trees. If the photos alone leave me captivated, I’m sure the place will look even more beautiful in person.

12. Sand Dunes, Qatar

Aside from the amazing flavors that the Middle East is known for, Qatar also boasts of its deserts and sand dunes. I, for one, can already feel the adrenaline rush of a wild sand dune ride! It’d definitely make for some awesome Snaps!

13. Ayana Spa, Indonesia

The Kardashian clan once featured the Ayana Spa on their infamous show. Ever since then I’ve set my eyes on the resort and told myself to work hard so that I can deserve a vacation of luxury. I mean, breathtaking villas with equally beautiful views? Yes please!

14. Waikiki Beach, Hawaii

Waikiki beach is famous for its beaches and surfing — two of the things I absolutely love. I may need to practice my surfing a bit more though so it’s a good thing that there are lots of surfing schools to choose from in Hawaii. Maybe I’ll even take a hula lesson or two.

15. Batanes, Philippines

Batanes consists of a group of islands in the Philippines known for its picturesque cliffs and phenomenal views.

Whenever I ask my nomad friends about Batanes they end up fumbling over words of ‘beautiful’, ‘amazing’ and ‘breathtaking’. After searching for photos online, I’ve got to say that I agree with them completely. Curious? Do a quick Google scan and see for yourself!

16. Pangong Lake, India

Away from the hustle and bustle of India’s city life is this majestic lake called Pangong Lake. This is described as a magical lake because of how the color of the water seems to change depending on the time of the day. It’s also a nice place to camp out during the night and enjoy stargazing. Surreal righ?!
