9 Kitchen Hacks That Will Make You Love Your Kitchen Even More

December 17, 2019 By Perry Belcher 1 Comment

We all love the kitchen, right? But sometimes, it’s really hard to clean up after cooking a delicious meal or preparing the meal itself. To help make your kitchen experience better, here are 9 kitchen hacks that will make you love your kitchen even more.

9 Kitchen Hacks That Will Make You Love Your Kitchen Even More

Cooking or Cleaning Your Kitchen Won’t Be the Same Anymore

The kitchen. For us women, it’s that one place where we can vent our frustrations through cooking. Especially baking chocolate chip cookies and eating them all afterward (admit it, you’ve done that). It’s also the place where we make delicious meals for our families and everyone that’s lucky enough to taste our cooking. If you’re having a hard time cleaning or cooking in your kitchen, check out some of the kitchen hacks that you would really consider just to make your life better.

1. The Eggshell Bits in Your Eggs

Having eggs in your dish is not a major shocker, it’s very common. Especially when your baking. One of the most frustrating things is when there are bits of shell in the eggs after you crack ’em.  It’s a real struggle to remove them using your fingers. So what you’re going to do is remove them with a larger eggshell and it will attract the bits like magnets as seen in this video from The Gracious Pantry.

 2. Organize Your Freezer

I bet there’s a lot of food in your freezer right now. There are your portions of bacon, leftover foods, raw meat and pints of ice cream, of course. One simple hack is putting magazine racks as shelves in the freezer. They will provide division so that the food don’t get all mixed up.

 3. Make Corn Soups Whenever you Want Them

Do you want fresh corn soup but you can’t have it because it’s such a pain make? Removing the kernels from the corn cob can be really messy. But now, all you need to do is use a bundt pan. Stick the cob on the hole in the middle of the pan, cut the kernels from top to bottom using a knife. And there you have it, the kernel will automatically fall inside the bowl.

4. Onions Will Not Make you Cry Anymore

We all cried because of onions at some point. Stop those tears from shedding by doing this one simple hack. Eat bread while chopping them. Watch this video from Chowhound and see how eating bread works.

 5. Make Use of That Small Space

Does your kitchen have a small gap between the fridge and the wall? Use that small space by turning it into a roll out pantry. What a brilliant idea, right?

6. Fresh Herbs

Ensuring that you always have a stock of fresh herbs is almost impossible. You can’t buy them in large amounts because they wilt easily. A simple solution so that you can have fresh herbs all the time is to preserve them in ice cubes for later use. Here’s another video from our friends from Chowhound to guide you.

 7. A Better Wine Experience

Do you want chilled wine but every time you add ice it gets diluted and the taste isn’t as good? Solve that by freezing grapes and using that as ice cubes. Your wine will not be watered down and it will still taste the same. Be guided by this video from TheGeekPub.

 8. Keep Wooden Chopping Boards as Good as New All the Time

Wooden chopping boards can accumulate food particles and nasty food smells over time. Clean them and make them as good as new by rubbing some coarse salt with lemon on its surface like what’s done in this video from Life is Made with Katie Miles. An additional tip is to rub the board with food-grade mineral oil once a month for conditioning.

 9. Keep Baking Soda Handy

There are many uses for baking soda. It can be used to remove weird smell from your fridge but do you know that it can also be used as an extinguisher for small grease fires? Just toss them on the fire. Baking sodas produce carbon dioxide that helps contain the heat. But I repeat, only small fires. It is better to keep a fire extinguisher in your kitchen all the time. Here is a video from essortment to guide you.
