Love Fall Even More With This Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

September 27, 2016 By Perry Belcher Leave a Comment

Here’s a Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe that will make you love fall even more! These are for those who love Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte (like me) and have been wanting to make it at the comfort of their homes. Well, it’s your lucky day ’cause we’ve got something good, warm, and sweet brewing for you!

This Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe is the best “dupe” for the Starbucks version and it’s super easy to do. I actually want to make it every day before work–’cause it’s just that good. Besides, who has time to line up at cafes? I say make a huge batch at home and bring it with you to work to have a perfect autumn morning (or night) every day without the hassle. Now, to keep your taste buds satisfied here’s a super easy recipe to replicate your favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte drink!

Love Fall Even More With This Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

First of, who would’ve thought Pumpkin spice would go well with coffee? Peter Dukes and his genius developers came up with the idea of creating the Fall drink favorite and it drove coffee lovers like me crazy about it. The sad part is that it’s just a seasonal drink, which is why this Homemade Pumpkin Spice latte recipe is super convenient–because you can make it whenever the craving for the great-tasting latte creeps in. And since Starbucks changed their recipe to remove artificial flavors and preservatives, you’re also doing the same with this recipe! So, let’s start brewing!

Before making your Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte, first, you have to make your own Pumpkin Spice Syrup, Vanilla Syrup, and Pumpkin Spice. Don’t worry, they’re just as easy as pie.

To make the Pumpkin Spice Syrup you will need:

  • 15 oz. Pumpkin Puree
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Water
  • Ladle
  • Strainer
  • Bowl

Procedure

Step 1. Make the syrup

In a medium heated pot, add your pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and 1 cup of water into the mixture. Stir and let the mixture simmer for about 20 minutes until the sugars have melted.

Step 2. Strain

When the sugars have melted, strain the mixture into a bowl to separate the chunks from the smooth puree.

To make the Vanilla Syrup you will need:

  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 Vanilla Bean Pods
  • Mason Jar

Procedure

Get your pot, put on medium heat, and place all of the ingredients together and let the mixture simmer until the sugars melt. Then, put in a mason jar.

Things you will need for the Pumpkin Spice:

  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger
  • Nutmeg
  • Ground Clove

Procedure

Mix together equal parts of all the ingredients mentioned above.

Things you will need for your Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte:

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 shots Espresso or 1 cup Coffee
  • 1 tbsp Pumpkin Spice Syrup
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Syrup
  • Whipped Cream
  • Pumpkin Spice
  • Microwave
  • Mason Jar

Procedure

Step 1. Add vanilla syrup

Get your mason jar with 1 cup milk in it. Then, add the vanilla syrup.

Step 2. Add pumpkin spice syrup

Without mixing, add the pumpkin spice syrup into the mason jar.

Step 3. Shake and Microwave

To mix the milk with the pumpkin spice syrup and the vanilla syrup, cover the mason jar and shake. Then, you can put the mason jar without the lid in the microwave for one minute.

Step 4. Add to the espresso or coffee

Carefully take out the hot milk mixture from the microwave and pour it into the espresso. If you don’t have any available espresso, you can also use your favorite coffee with it.

Step 5. Add whipped cream

After adding the hot milk mixture into the espresso or coffee, you can top the latte with whipped cream.

Step 6. Add pumpkin spice

One last touch! Top your whipped cream with pumpkin spice. (You can be generous with it!)

And, ta-daaaaaah! Your own Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte all the way from Starbucks your home!
