These Trendy Yoga Shoes Are Amazingly Comfortable

September 27, 2016 By Perry Belcher Leave a Comment

You can definitely combine yoga and fashion. Here are 6 gorgeous pairs of yoga shoes that can beautify your feet on and off the mat.

I love fashion. I’ll say it again: I love fashion! And if there’s one thing I like about yoga, it’s the fact I can do asanas while wearing cool kinds of yoga attire. Not only that, I can pair them with well-designed and highly functional yoga shoes. For this blog post, I want to stop talking about postures and kinds of yoga for a bit and focus on the other thing I love. I am going to show you some marvelous pairs to choose from.

6 Yoga Shoes That Will Impress You With Their Design And Function

Many of my students do ask whether I recommend wearing yoga shoes or why they are necessary. These are optional. I have done yoga countless times with nothing but my bare feet touching the mat. But there are also a number of reasons why wearing shoes may make perfect sense.

There’s hygiene. Sweat and moisture can build on your mat, making them a great place to breed bacteria. These potentially harmful microorganisms can enter your body through your feet. It also sounds gross to go barefoot when you’re using a rented mat (although I make it imperative for my students to bring their own!).

Second, some people tend to maintain a better balance when they’re wearing something on their feet. In fact, I have a friend who walks a whole lot better in five-inch heels! Can you believe that? Moreover, as you become all sweaty, your feet can lose traction. This means you have a higher chance of slipping or losing your balance, which may be dangerous since it can lead to injuries.

Choosing the right yoga shoes for you is easy these days. Just check out my proof below:

1. Nike Studio Wrap

Usually, when we think of Nike, we conjure images of rubber shoes. Well, guess what, they offer yoga shoes too, and these are not the normal ones you see. Nike has designed a pair of yoga shoes composed of a ribbon, wrap, and sandal. It’s inspired by ballet shoes, which are also becoming popular for those who are into Barre. Their shoes fit the contours of the feet while retaining their flexibility.  As you can see, you can also quickly adjust the fit.

The company also offers different colors, below you’ll see a purple and black combination.

2. Great Soles Women’s Ballet Grip Sock

If you’re looking for a pair of yoga shoes you can slip on fast, then a good choice is the grip sock from Great Soles. Made of cotton, this pair allows your feet to breathe, which is a good way to keep them hygienic. They are also machine washable. As a non-grip pair, they help you maintain your balance and posture with great ease. You won’t have any problem bringing this with you anywhere you go since they can be folded and placed inside your luggage. This pair of super comfy yoga shoes is available at Amazon for only $12.

3. Crochet Barefoot Sandals

This is a perfect choice if you don’t want a pair of yoga shoes that scream they are yoga shoes. These beautifully designed crochet sandals provide a bare-feet feel while protecting your soles. Of course, you can show off your new pedicure or bring this with you when you want to do yoga by the beach.

4. ToeSox Women’s Grip Half-Toe Bella Socks

Do you know what my biggest issue with shoes is? You can’t wiggle your toes! When your feet feel constricted, you may end up not enjoying what you’re doing. You also get exhausted quite easily. If you like more freedom for your toes, I recommend the five-finger ToeSox socks. Get yours here at Amazon.

5. Lupo Women’s Essential No Slip Crossover Yoga Pilates Socks

The pair may look like regular yoga socks, but they’re not. Underneath them are swirls, which add more aesthetic appeal, not to mention a better grip on the yoga mat. If you’re picky with colors, you have several choices for this one including blue, black, purple, and gray.

This one too is available in many colors! Black and blue are the most popular ones.

6. Sanuk Yoga Duet

Would you like a pair you can also use for other activities, say, a weekend getaway or a nice stroll in the park? Good thing you have Sanuk Duet. The sling is fully adjustable and fashionable. Further, this is one of those yoga shoes that provide excellent air circulation and ventilation for your feet. Sanuk has many variations in their yoga shoes collection, but the yoga duet is my favorite! Get yours now at Amazon!

If there’s one thing to watch out for when wearing yoga shoes for the first time, it’s feet pain. To relieve yourself, here’s a nice yoga sequence you can do with the help of Yoga TX:

A couple of things to remember when buying yoga shoes:

  • Make sure they fit. Look at the size chart or, better yet, try them on before you decide to buy.
  • While design is important, function is more essential. Your pair should have an excellent grip and even help improve your flexibility.
  • Seek value over price. It’s better to spend a bit more when you know your pair can last for a long time.

What’s your favorite pair of yoga shoes? Do let me know through your comments! Don’t forget to pair them with these.
