Make Your Own Firefly Lit Jars to Light Up Your Way Towards A Magical Wedding Reception

These firefly-inspired mason jar lights are perfect to accessorize any wedding or wedding reception. It helps bring out nature’s romantic side. Fireflies are known to surround a specific place that is full of life, and that is the exact aura you would want your wedding to have.

When I tried to decorate mason jars for weddings with these pretty lights for my friend’s barn house themed wedding, they reminded me of Disney’s version of The Princess and the Frog. Have you seen this movie? I saw it last weekend with my little girls and I felt inspired with the firefly’s (the frogs were sweet too) undying love to his Evangeline. It made me remember just how lucky I am to end up with my one true love. Let’s go and make that  version for your wedding!

Step 1: Tie on each side

You start by tying the upper part of the mason jar. Use one twine for the left side, and the other one for the right side.

Make sure that you secure the ties with a tight knot to prevent it from falling.

Step 2: Fill lights

Put the lights inside, already lit up.

Step 3: Close and display

Close tightly to keep the ties in place and you can start displaying. You can either hang them from a tree branch or just have them affixed to the table as a centerpiece.

Or try these instead of Mason Jars!

Here are other ideas that you can use as firefly containers, other than mason jars. Don’t they look magical? 🙂

It’s very versatile and the lights will keep you mesmerized as you admire it from afar. You can also try using other colored lights or changing the mason jar into one of the variants mentioned above, but this version is my personal favorite.
