5 Healthy Summer Drink Recipes After Yoga Class

Thirst-Quenching Healthy Summer Drink Recipes Perfect For Every Yogi

I love water. I believe it’s the healthiest drink there is on the planet. It’s what our body needs – remember, we are 75 percent water – and it doesn’t have calories. But once in a while, although more often during excruciatingly humid and hot days, I give in to these wonderful and healthy summer drink recipes. After all, variations are fun.

Here are 5 of my well-loved healthy drinks for the summer:

1. Kombucha

It won’t be called the “health elixir” for nothing. I consider this as a major upgrade to your regular tea. Not only is it packed with texture and flavor, it’s excellent in increasing energy and reducing joint pain. While I would love to make my own kombucha, I don’t have the patience, so I prefer to buy it. Don’t forget to get something organic.

2. Orange Sports Drink

Coming from a grueling hot yoga session? Then better make sure you’re hydrated well. I highly recommend this natural orange sports drink, which can help refuel your body with its much-needed sugar while enhancing your immunity.

3. Cucumber Mint Water

I love this because it’s incredibly easy to make: just chop those cucumbers, place them in a pitcher or a glass of cold water, and top them off with mint leaves. That’s it! The ingredients are not difficult to find either. You’ll like this even more since it helps prevent bloating – in case you love to eat after yoga – and promotes weight loss.

4. Watermelon and Cucumber Mojitos

If you’re planning a night out with fellow yogis after a session, then a nice backyard party with watermelon and cucumber mojitos sounds like a lovely idea. The watermelon hydrates you while the cucumber helps get rid of toxins from all the greasy food you may end up eating.

5. Skinny Pineapple Smoothie

It’s healthy, fat-free, and packs with potassium, one of the important minerals your muscles need to function properly. You’ll find your recovery easier and faster if you drink this smoothie.
