How To Get Organized And Get Your Life Together Once And For All

In this article, I’ll teach you all about how to get organized! I’m a firm believer that once a lady’s able to organize certain aspects of her life, she’ll feel more in control, more empowered, and ultimately more happy.

Don’t worry. Organization isn’t as daunting as it seems. Sometimes it’s as easy as using a magazine rack for all your sheets of paper lying around.

Let’s get real. Being organized leaves more room for creativity, ease of brainstorming, and general wellbeing.
It takes away the troubles of clutter. I can’t tell you how many times I haven’t been able to focus on my task at hand whenever I struggle to remember the thing that I have to do by next week so that I can pick up another thing the week after… You get the picture.

Today, I won’t just be talking about the usual organizational hacks, but I’ll be showing you how to regain control of your life. I want to help you become the lady boss you were always meant to be. Let’s get started!

1. Have a planner.

I would be nothing without my planner. I depend on it so much that the thought of me starting my day without it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Planners are amazing because they help get meetings and errands organized. They’ve saved me the trouble of double booking and show me my to-do list for the day. I try to structure my list in such a way that I put the items I prioritize higher on the list and work my way down. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of checking off tasks one by one!

2. Get rid of items you don’t need

Think of it as a mini version of spring cleaning. Sometimes I’m guilty of storing old receipts or movie tickets in my wallet and I forget to take them out the day after. Now, I solve this by making sure that I do a weekly clear out of items I don’t need in my wallet and bag.

The same goes for closets. I like having a quarterly clean up for clothes and shoes that I haven’t worn at least twice in a year. Being strict with a quarterly clean up has also helped me choose more chic and timeless pieces for my wardrobe. After all, trends may come and go but classic items stay forever.

3. Jot down reminders instead of just relying on your memory

I’m the type of person who usually remembers something during the most mundane times. Fortunately enough, I usually have my phone nearby so I can jot down my thoughts as soon as my brain thinks of them.

This is a great tip in knowing how to get organized because in writing the task down, you don’t have to keep reminding yourself in your mind about the thing you have to do.

4. Prep the night before

They say the early bird catches the worm, but I think the better bird preps her plan the night before (or so I say). Waking up early can be challenging sometimes so it’s best to have everything ready once you wake up.

Got a workout scheduled first thing in the morning? Lay out your clothes so that you’ll feel motivated to push through with the class!

5. Clean as you go

Whether you’re whipping up a feast in the kitchen or laying out an impeccable flatlay for that perfect shot, it’s always good to make sure that you clean as you go. I know, it can be a bit tedious, but trust me, once you build the habit for it, your organized space will thank you for it!

6. Manage your expenses

Spare yourself the terrible question of “where did all my money go” by taking note of your expenses. Tracking them helps you see where you’ve been spending most of your money on — lattes at your favorite cafe or maybe that new LBD you just had to have.

Monitoring expenses also help in saving up for future buys. Been wanting to explore the cuisines of Asia? Check how much flight fares are and see how much you’d need to save per week to check it off your bucket list. Curious about improv theatre? Skip a brunch date with your friends and use the money to check out a local show near you.

7. Have a bucket list

Whenever I feel I’ve accomplished in organizing something, I have a yearning to do and see more. So my last tip is for you to write down all the things you’d want to check off your list, big, small, scary, exotic. Absolutely anything you’d want to try at least once.

This time, you won’t only be organizing your bag, your home, or your planner. But you’ll also be organizing your life goals. Reach for the stars, ladies! You’ve earned it!
