1. Uma Thurman as Beatrix Kiddo or Mia Wallace

Uma Thurman is such a diverse actress. While she can hop from one movie to the next playing completely different roles, there are two characters in particular that engraved her image into our memories. The first is her character Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction and the second is Beatrix Kiddo from Kill Bill. We really can’t decide which is better so we’ll leave that to you!

Are you out for blood? Or do you just really want to recreate Mia’s unforgettable dance scene?

2. Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly or Sabrina Fairchild

Audrey Hepburn is a style and beauty icon. Even decades after her role as Holly Golightly, we are still drooling over her beautiful face and brilliant fashion sense. Two of her iconic roles are Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Sabrina Fairchild in Sabrina. The Holly look is a more popular one, but if you’re a fan of the movie Sabrina, it’s going to be an easy pick for you.

3. Robin Wright as Buttercup

Who can forget Robin Wright as Buttercup in The Princess Bride? She was married to the love of her life, only to lose him in a tragedy. She vowed never to love again… until (*drumroll please*)… a mysterious man saved her. A typical damsel in distress, Buttercup is a well-loved character and if you want to do a different take on the princess look, do this iconic look instead.

4. Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia

First off, I’m really not into Star Wars (sorry!) but seeing the transformation from the first to the second photo made my jaw drop, literally. Carrie Fisher played the role of the popular Princess Leia in the earlier Star Wars movies and people can’t get enough of both these looks. But the real question here is, which look are you going for: conservative or sexy?

5. Gwyneth Paltrow as Margot Tenenbaum

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I watched The Royal Tenenbaums, so I just do both instead. But one thing is for sure, I ended up loving Margot Tenenbaum by the end of the movie. This girl didn’t have a good childhood growing up, but man was she a genius! And we dig her unique and unusual style. Raise your hands if you immediately stocked up on eyeliner and Lacoste polo dresses after watching this movie.

6. Vivian Leigh as Scarlett O’ Hara

Let’s talk about love for a second here. Scarlett O’Hara, the main character of the movie and novel Gone In the Wind, always put on the best and most elaborate dresses. But what I admire about her the most is her courage to pursue the love of her life (even if she wasn’t that great of a person). Not many of us get to do that anymore, but hey, even if you don’t get what you want, at least you can look good while doing it (which isn’t such a bad alternative after all).

7. Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan

Carey Mulligan played Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby (2013) alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Another woman caught in between uncontrollable circumstances, Daisy had to let go of her first love, Jay Gatsby (DiCaprio) and marry another man. How Daisy forgot about Jay is another question altogether, but amidst the heartbreak and unrequited love comes this beautiful number. The gem-filled dress and headband is absolutely gorgeous… really takes you back to the roarin’ 20s, doesn’t it?

8. Ingrid Bergman as Ilsa Lund

Ah, Casablanca. This is probably one of the most iconic films ever made. The love story is terrific! Ingrid Bergman was perfect for the role of Ilsa Lund and her chemistry with actor Humphrey Bogart was incredible. So if you simply love the movie, there’s no question about it; you should be Ilsa Lund for a night!

9. Faye Dunaway as Bonnie Parker

The movie Bonnie and Clyde marked a new age in Hollywood movies. Not only are Bonnie and Clyde remembered as the inseparable crime-loving duo, but their movie will also be remembered as having the bloodiest death scenes in the history of cinema too. Blood and Halloween go perfectly well together so if you’re feeling more gangsta this Halloween, go for Bonnie Parker’s look!

10. Jane Fonda as Barbarella

Who knew that this bizarre alien movie from the 1970s would go on to become a cult classic? No one will ever take on Barbarella like Jane Fonda did, which is why I chose this costume over the one in the remake. All black with brown boots is what you should put on when you’re carrying that gun. What about you; will you be hunting this Halloween?

11. Julie Andrews as Maria Von Trapp

How do you solve a problem like Maria? You sing! The Sound of Music was a fantastic movie and I’ll always remember Julie Andrews singing “The hills are alive with the sound of music” while spreading her arms like wings. It made me want to be a singer. But thankfully, I chose to be with you here and talk about what you should wear this Halloween. Want to sport a classic and very respected look this Halloween? Be Maria Von Trapp! Everyone will love you!

12. Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale

For some reason, I always felt jealous of Dorothy Gale, the girl who got to travel with Toto the dog, the Tinman, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion in search for the Wizard of Oz. Fortunately, Halloween is the only time I can also dress up as Dorothy and pretend like I’m looking for the Wizard when all I want are treats! But hey, if you have a dog at home and want to bring him along with you, this is the perfect costume to wear.

So there you have it ladies, the coolest and baddest women in film throughout history.
