Street Style: 23 Ripped Jeans Outfit Ideas Every Fashionista Must Know

There was a time when I would say no to anything ripped in my closet. I’d tell friends that I didn’t like them and that they weren’t my style. In reality, though, I really just had no clue how to style them because ripped jeans were always one of those clothing pieces that intimidated me. I figured only models, celebrities, or absolute rockstars could look good in them–but was I wrong.

After a shopping haul with my boyfriend, I’ve been wearing ripped jeans for a solid three years now. I’ve worn them in house parties, for dates at the mall, and even meetings in the office — yes, you can strut your ripped jeans at work too!

Have a look at some of my styling tips, below. You never know, you might be inspired to pick up a pair of ripped jeans on your next trip to the mall.

1. Tank Top and Sneakers

In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a tank top, ripped jeans, and a pair of sneakers. It’s  basic, which means you can accessorize endlessly. Maybe you can wear your fave earrings or layer on a few necklaces. The possibilities are endless, really.

2. Slouchy Sweater

Comfort always comes before style for me. So I love throwing on a slouchy sweater over my ripped jeans. It’s one of my go to snuggle weather outfits. Give me a cup of hot PSL, a good book, and I’m good for a whole afternoon of me time.

3. Button Down

A white button down, ripped jeans, and heels is another one of my favorite ensembles. It’s what I usually wear on days when I’m running late and don’t want to think too much about my outfit. I just put on a pair of sunnies, swipe on my favorite red lippie, and I’m good to go!

4. Casual Chic Business Attire

If your boss doesn’t have a strict rule when it comes to clothing, try strutting your legs in a pair of ripped jeans for a change. Be office chic by putting on a structured blazer, heels, and statement jewelry. You’ll turn heads on the way to your next meeting for sure.

5. Floral with Flats

Create a feminine look with your ripped jeans by pairing it with floral accents. A touch of pastel or Pantone colors such as pinks and yellows work well too.

6. Tights Underneath

Feeling adventurous and fashion forward? Put on a pair of tights before wearing your ripped jeans. It’ll give you a whole new look using the pieces you already have in your closet.

7. Monochrome

I went through a monochrome phase when all I’d wear was either all black, all white, or all gray. If you’re in the same boat, get ripped jeans in your favorite color and take pride in your love for all things monochrome.

8. Leather Jacket

Edgy and cool almost always go hand in hand with a leather jacket. Wear yours with your ripped jeans and don a pair of boots. You’re good to go for the day!

9. Red Lipped

Sometimes a bright red lip is all you need to complete a look. For those days when you need a little pick me up, swipe your favorite shade of red, wear your fiercest heels, and put on a smile. You’re going to slay today, ladies!

10. Laid-back with Espadrilles

Wear this outfit when you’re out at the grocery. It’s no fuss and it’s comfy as ever.

11. Beanie and Booties

Feeling chilly because of the fall weather? Pair your ripped jeans with a jacket, beanie, and booties. You could even top off your look with today’s trend: the choker.

12. Cozy Cardi

I love anything cozy so outfits like these are always a favorite of mine. I like dressing up my usual tees and ripped jeans with a colorful cardigan — the furry ones are the best.

13. Striped Top and Sunnies

Striped tops always remind me of Parisian chic. Top your outfit with a pair of sunnies and be one step closer to your fashion dreams!

14. Statement Pieces

Accessorize your outfit with statement pieces like oversized watches or a chunky necklace. Be careful not to layer them on too much, though. Sometimes less is more.

15. Crossbody Bag

Crossbody bags are a fave of mine because they’re lightweight, not too bulky, and they fit everything from a phone, power bank, wallet, and small makeup pouch — everything I could ever need for a day out.

16. Embellished Top

I’ve found that it’s particularly handy having a bit of bling on some blouses. This is for all those days when I’m too lazy to accessorize on my own.

17. Leather Loafers

Leather loafers help balance the casual vibe of ripped jeans by providing a sleek and structured look to an outfit, which makes this look perfect for a day around town.

18. Bomber Jacket

Bomber jackets are gaining popularity again and I can’t help but see why. The fabric gives off a nice sheen, it’s absolutely comfortable, and it pairs well with almost everything.

19. Cropped Top

Flaunt your hard earned abs from the gym in this outfit. All those Pilates classes and extra minutes on the elliptical have done you well, ladies!

20. Tucked In

This is a secret I’ve learned from a friend of mine. On days when you want to look polished and casual, try tucking your top in your jeans. The result will leave you looking casual yet chic.

21. Long Coat and Strappy Heels

Fall season usually has me reaching for my long coats and boots. However, when I know I want to look sharper than usual, I trade the boots in for a pair of strappy heels. I just make sure that I’ll be spending most of my days indoors when I make the foot wear switch.

22. Off Shoulder Top and Messy Bun

I love wearing these kinds of tops because I’ve heard that showing off the collarbones gives off a slimming look. Try it out and see what you think. You could even put your hair in an updo like a messy bun or a ponytail to emphasize your collarbones further.

23. Sneakers and Baseball Cap

To be honest, this is one of my fave casual looks. Fall season can be windy so I help keep my hair in place with a baseball cap. Trust me, there have been so many times when I’ve looked like a lion whenever huge gusts of wind go through my hair.
