Travel Packing Checklist  | 9 Things You Need to Bring When Travelling

Essentials for Your Next Travel Venture

The struggle is real whenever you’re about to take a trip. Whether it’s for business or leisure purposes, a packing checklist is everyone’s dilemma. You’ll never know what you’re supposed to bring until it’s too late and you’re en route to your destination.

Ladies, there’s no need to panic. Seriously! We all go through this and we understand the frustration of bringing too much or bringing way too little. It’s important to plan things before taking an adventure — and that includes everything you must bring when traveling.

We’re aiming for a ‘travel-light’ vacation. On that note, check out these 9 travel must-have items for a stress-free and happy travel.

1. Passport, Travel Documents, and Cash

Gather all the important documents you need in a small travel organizer or bag. These are your passport, frequent flyer and identification cards, travel insurance, transportation tickets,  itinerary documents, cash, and credit cards. Place it in your front bag pocket so you can easily access them anytime.

Tip: Do not keep all your cash in one place. Have some in your pocket, your wallet, and bag.

2. Clothes For Your Destination’s Weather

It’s advisable to research the weather of your travel destination so you can be sure of what to bring. If it’s cold, stock up on boots, socks, coats, and thermal wear. If it’s sunny, prepare your sunnies, sandals, and sunblock lotion!

3. Medical Kit

This includes all the necessary medicines and vitamins you take on a daily basis plus the common inclusions of a first aid kit (pain relievers, bandages/plasters, ointments, a pair of small scissors, insect repellants, and medicine for allergies). Always take note of your medical history, the length of your vacation/travel, and your destination in filling in your medical kit.

4. Maps and Travel Guides

Being lost is frustrating and it wastes precious travel time. So, whether you’re heading off to a mountain’s peak or busy concrete jungle, waze or a google map would be helpful. A travel guide and a bit of research on the hot spots of your travel destination are a big help as well.

For your convenience, you may also download offline map apps and travel guides (Android, iOs)  to your phone!

5. Beauty Essentials

Your makeup essentials are a must-have in your travels so you’re always ready when the need to pucker up arises. To the makeup lovers, just bring your essentials: base makeup, a few makeup tools, mascara, eyeliner,  3 lipstick shades and you’re good to go!

6. Extra Tote Bag

Your itinerary would most likely include a day for shopping (who doesn’t shop when on vacation?) so it’s advisable to  grab one or two extra totes! You can also use this as a carry-on bag for a beach walk or place your dirty clothes in in it to separate them from your unused clothes. It only takes a small space in your luggage but it’s multi-functional indeed!

7. Toiletries

You don’t want to end up storming through the drugstore just to buy toiletries, don’t you? Bring your toiletires and pack them in a handy bag that you can hang inside your hotel’s bathroom to save you from the hassle of packing and unpacking it every single time.

Tip: Bring a pack of wet wipes to wipe off dirt from your hands after a day of relaxation and fun. You can also use moist towelettes to clean your face while on transit.

8. Water

If your travel time from one destination to the next takes more than 4 hours of sitting with the scorching heat of the sun, make sure you have enough water to keep you hydrated!

9. Memory Keepers

Aside from the pictures and videos you captured in your phone or camera, your experiences feel more authentic if you journal it. Look back and read it after a few months to remember everything in great detail. You’ll find yourself back in that wanderlust and you’ll plan another trip in no time!
