What We Should Be Thankful For This Thanksgiving

There’s no better time to think about what we should be thankful for than Thanksgiving. Sometimes, with our busy schedules, we lose sight of the beautiful people and things around us. Luckily, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we’re going to get our much-needed dose of being thankful and appreciative.

Let’s be honest here, we take a lot of things for granted every day. Even with the simplest thing like the water you drink, we forget to be thankful for that. We focus so much on meeting deadlines or impressing the boss that we often fail to be thankful for all the blessings we have. Well, you can call this article as a timely reminder for all the ladies out there. Let’s be thankful girls!

Here’s A List What We Should Be Thankful For

I’m wondering, what will you be thankful for this Thanksgiving? I have several things on my list right now that I’m happy to share with you! But before we begin, I want you to open your heart and mind first and just let all the good vibes flow through you. We need to feel good to see all the good (and bad) things right…it’s all about perspective! So, are you ready? Here’s a list of what we should be thankful for this Thanksgiving:

1. Thankful for Family and Friends

Like seriously, can you imagine life without your family and friends? I can’t! To be honest, I don’t have a big family and I don’t have a huge circle of friends. I prefer having a few close friends and relatives, but these are the people that I trust my life with! Never underestimate the power of a support system, they’ll always have your back!

2. Thankful for Good Health

Your walking, sweating, and breathing, be thankful for that! Life is no fun if you’re always sick. It is very important that you make the effort to care for yourself. Achieving career goals can be satisfying but please, do not sacrifice your health for it (I know a lot of women who do this). Think of your health as an investment and trust me, this investment will be very rewarding.

3. Thankful for Freedom

We can vote. We can work freely. We can speak our mind. These are just some of the things freedom has given us and we should never take that for granted. And with that said, always be appreciative of the people (in the past) that fought for the very freedom you have today. Let’s show them that the fight was worth it!

4. Thankful for Everyday

There’s just something so fascinating with the sun and the moon, literally and figuratively. Every time I see the moon, I see hope…hope for a new day and hope that a better day will come. Call me sentimental but I’m always thankful for a brand new day–a day we can spend learning more, bettering ourselves, and spending time with loved ones.

5. Thankful for the Abundance of Necessities

Oh gosh, if you’re like me who loves food, then you’re probably guilty of not being thankful for the food you’re about to eat…or at least, until after you finished eating it! You have food, water, clothing, and a home. We can’t take that for granted. There are people out there who battle their way every day just to get a hold of these daily necessities so let’s be more appreciative of that.

6. Thankful for a Job

While they say that the best things in life are free (and that’s true!), we still need money to survive. When adult life begins, financial stability is one of the goals we aim for and this is why we hustle everyday, right ladies? Let’s be thankful for the jobs that we have and work hard to retain it. Being jobless with bills to pay is a total nightmare and we don’t want that to happen!

7. Thankful for Problems

Life isn’t always going to be about ponies and rainbows. Well, that would be nice but it’s just not the reality we live in. The earlier you accept that life will keep throwing rocks at you, the better it will be. Let’s be thankful for problems and challenges, because we will not be as strong as we are today if we didn’t overcome them. Remember that ex-boyfriend who broke your heart? So, who’s laughing now? I thought so too.

8. Thankful for Nature

I love nature, who doesn’t? It’s bountiful, amazing, and majestic! Our beautiful nature is one of the things that people take for granted. Trees and plants help us breathe and yet, we cut them! We use so much plastic and we don’t realize how many animals are killed because of it. I truly believe that in order for us to care for mother nature, there should be 100% appreciation for it first. Let’s go green ladies!

9. Thankful for Feelings

Ah! The world of human emotions–a world so complicatedly beautiful! I can’t even think about life without feeling anything. We are so blessed to be able to feel love, compassion, sympathy, etc. for our family, children, friends, and pets. These emotions are what makes us human and I won’t trade it for anything in the world.

10. Thankful for Life

And most importantly, the best thing that we should be thankful for is life itself. Seeing a newborn baby always gives joy to my heart because it shows how beautiful the human body is and in a way, the cycle of life too. Hey, life can get crazy, absolutely nuts and ridiculously weird sometimes. But remember, we’re all here to enjoy the ride!
