You can call them Climate Warriors.
The world’s problem with climate change is no laughing matter. More than two weeks ago, the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) was held in Paris. The subject at hand? Climate change.
Time is running out and if action is to be taken against the debilitating, now irreversible effects of climate change, it must be done now. This is the stance 13 climate warriors are taking — action must be taken now, not later.

Climate Warriors
Today, more than 190 countries are gathering in Paris for the world’s largest summit on climate change, with the hope of reaching a historic agreement to address global warming. These 13 women are on the front line. Every year, the United Nations holds a summit on climate change, where it works to persuade countries large and small to give up fossil fuels.
When I read this piece from Vogue, my heart literally fell into pieces. I was proud and happy that my fellow women were leading the war on climate change. What left the biggest impact on me was the passion in which they verbalized their stance against climate change and the actions they were planning on taking in regards to combating the issue.
In less than five sentences, all 13 women were able to express why change must be taken now and why there’s no time to waste. Their words struck me like lightning. I asked myself, what have I done to help? Would I want my kids to live in a world swallowed by the effects of climate change? Would my conscience allow me to sleep at night knowing that I was part of the generation that could have made a difference but instead chose to not do anything about it? How will I be able to face my kids, nephews, nieces, or even grandchildren then?
I admire these climate warriors for opening my eyes and making me realize what kind of problem we have at hand. It also makes me proud to know that they’re women who will fight til’ the end for their beliefs. The beliefs that stem from their intense love for their family.
This is one of those days where I thank the heavens for being a woman. I just wish that someday (soon), I will be able to make a change just like these warriors did and, hopefully, this will be an eye-opener for you too. Let’s change the world together!
