Everything You Need To Know About Neflix’s Making A Murderer

January 11, 2016 By Perry Belcher Leave a Comment

Don’t start watching unless you’re prepared for your life to be consumed with the docu-series for the next 10 hours.

This show has officially gone viral. I don’t remember the last time Americans were so united over anything. Everyone is convinced that the US justice system has failed Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey and that they most definitely did not kill Teresa Halbach.

I actually grew up in Green Bay, Wisc. and remember the media coverage on this case vividly. It was all over the news for years. Being a local taught me a lot about this case, but I learned even more from Making A Murderer. I think we all did, and we still don’t know everything. They did leave out a lot of information in the documentary. I’m not here to write a whole post on my opinion, there are already SO many articles floating around the internet.

So, I’m going to share with you the articles I think you should read to form a well-rounded opinion on this case. Most of the articles contain spoilers, so only read after you’ve finished binge-watching the series!

To hear about evidence/critical facts left out by the series, read here

Reddit has uncovered a lot of complicated Avery family relationships, all of which are laid out here

TMZ reported that Steven Avery claims his two brothers may have killed Teresa Halbach, learn more here

Donnie Wahlberg compares the Avery case to O.J. Simpson’s in this very interesting article

One of my favorite articles I’ve read is by a Wisconsin journalist (at the time of the trial), in which she reminds us that the real victim in ALL of this is Teresa Halbach, read it here

Of course, make sure to watch the series on Netflix if you haven’t already.

I urge you to read all the information out there from the crazy Reddit theories to the factual information. This story is truly mind-boggling, we may never find answers, but we can all try.

If you haven’t watched the series yet, check out the trailer below:

So what do you think? Is Avery guilty of innocent? Let me know in the comments below!
