The Best Dressed Celebrities At The Oscars 2015

November 23, 2019 By Perry Belcher Leave a Comment

Oscars 2016 is almost here and we can’t wait to see who’s wearing what.

It felt like last year’s Oscars happened a few months, instead of a year, ago. Now, we’re months away from this year’s Academy Awards and we can’t wait to see what A-List celebrities such as Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara and more will be walking down the red carpet with.

But before we get too excited about what’s in store this year, let’s take a look back at the best dressed celebrities of last year’s awards show… just to see how high the bar’s been set.

Check out the photos below to see if your favorite star made the cut.

1. Emma Stone

Emma Stone looked like a goddess in last year’s Oscars with this gold, sparkly and free-flowing chartreuse dress from Elie Saab. It fit her perfectly!

2. Lupita Nyong’O

Lupita Nyong’O’s dress was a huge favorite last year. This white number came from Calvin Klein, but the more impressive part is that the 6,000 pearls you see were actually hand-sewn!

3. Julianne Moore

Despite not wearing a Tom Ford gown, Julianne Moore still made the top dressed list. Instead, she wore a Chanel Haute Couture gown filled with white sequins and floral embroidery. If Lupita’s hand-sewn dress was impressive, this gown took 27 people 987 hours to make!

4.  Dakota Johnson

Dakota Johnson opted to go simple on the red carpet with this red one-shouldered gown from the Saint Laurent collection. Nevertheless, going simple didn’t mean Dakota wasn’t oozing with sex appeal that night.

5. Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard, the girl we all love to adore, does it again! As expected, she wore a white gown from Dior that fitted her body exceptionally. Is there anything Marion does wrong? Seriously.

6. Lady Gaga

Surprised to see the eccentric Lady Gaga on the list? She pulled through in Oscars 2015 and received plenty of great reviews for her gown. For Lady Gaga’s Oscar debut, she went with Azzedine Alaia, whose white gown did not disappoint at all. The only con to this ensemble would have to be the gloves, in my opinion.

7. Reese Witherspoon

Two words can be used to define “hourglass.” Tom Ford. The  black and white curve-hugging number that Reese Witherspoon wore was from Tom’s collection and let me just say, it fit her body like a glove!

8. Rosamund Pike

She was the star of “Gone Girl,” but clearly, she was very present on the Oscars 2015 red carpet. Rosamund Pike had no signs of disappearing that night. Even if she would have, she could have been easily spotted with her beautiful crimson red lace Givenchy gown that was super sultry and sexy!

9. Sienna Miller

I love this gown that Sienna Miller wore to the Oscars 2015. Aside from the color, I like the lace details too. This was designer Peter Copping’s debut at the Oscars award show under the house of Oscar de la Renta.

10. Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts is a girl who can do no wrong on the red carpet and we’d like to give props to her stylist Jeanann Williams for making that a possibility. The genius behind this black and white tiled cutout gown is Armani.

11. Keira Knightley

Talk about fairytale dress! I know that Keira Knightley doesn’t always show up on best dressed lists, but she was certainly a contender that night. Her Valentino gown was so dreamy and ethereal. The embroidery on the tulle made the gown all the more beautiful!

12. Jennifer Lopez

And Elie Saab does it again! He made Emma Stone radiate that night and then followed it up with this bronze dress fit for the goddess, Jennifer Lopez. The sparkling details, lace and train all worked great for J.Lo. This is on my top 3 for sure!

13. Cate Blanchett

Every year, I don’t know what to expect from Cate Blanchett on the red carpet. That year, she looked effortlessly beautiful in a black velvet body-hugging dress from Giorgio Armani Prive. Cate was styled to perfection too with her hair slicked back, a classic black clutch and that turquoise blue statement necklace.

I am literally drooling over these dresses and wondering when I’ll be strutting my own gown down the red carpet. Well, never say never, right? Which is your favorite look?

And, which celebrity are you expecting to wow us again in the red carpet this Oscars 2016?
