Foundation is the base of every makeup. It doesn’t matter if you have a fabulous eyeshadow if your foundation is not the right shade. You can either look like a ghost or an orange so choosing the right shade of foundation is very important. Keep scrolling to learn the things you need to consider in finding the right shade for you:

Use a Q-tip and dip it in the foundation. Apply it on the center of your jawline. If you barely notice it, that’s your shade.

 2. Determine the Color of Your Veins

Look at your inner wrist. If your veins are blue, you’re easily flushed in the direct sunlight so you’ll need a redder, rosier or even a blue base. If your veins are green, this means that you can be easily darkened under direct sunlight so you’ll need a yellow or golden based foundation. And if you have an equal number of blue and green veins, you’ll need a neutral colored foundation.

 3. For Fair Skin

If you are aware that you have a fair and flawless skin tone, the proper foundation for you are those with pinkish shades. Shades like coral or peach will work to make your beauty stand out even more.

 4. For Medium Skin

If you know that you’re not too fair and not olive either, then this is your skin tone. For foundation makeups,  you should go for honey shades or golden to bronze bases. Medium skin tones just need to highlight their natural glow so these shades are perfect for them.

 5. For Dark Skin

Determining the proper shade of foundation for darker complexion can be a little tricky. To test what foundation to use, apply the shade in question to your neck or the back of your hand. Let it sit a while to warm up and mix with your skin tone. Remember that the color should not only match your face but your entire body as well. If it looks natural, then it is the right shade for you.

It is really tricky to choose the proper shade of foundation for you. Don’t be afraid to ask for opinions regarding the shades you are trying. After all, all of your efforts to enhance your beauty will not work if the foundation is not on point.
