I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, New Years Eve is one of the BEST holidays. With the hope of a new year alive, and the constant flow of champagne, how could someone not be happy?!
Speaking of champagne, NYE is one of the few nights out of the year that simple folk like you and I actually drink champagne. For those of us who can’t splurge on the bubbly, we get the cheap stuff and pray our hangover isn’t debilitating (spoiler: it will be).
Champagne is a tough alcohol to down all night long. It’s carbonated and sweet. I relate it to drinking nothing but cans of Coke for an entire evening. Not fun. An alternative to drinking champagne straight up is using it as a base for fancy cocktails. Cocktails are a great way to mix things up while still keeping that NYE tradition alive.
