Can the Oscars ever go off without a hitch?!
When the nominations for this year’s Academy Awards were officially released, Jada Pinkett-Smith was the first to cry foul. The actress and wife of previous Oscar-nominee Will Smith said she will be boycotting the Oscars due to lack of diversity in the nominations. For those of you that don’t know, this is the second year in a row that the awards have contained all-white acting nominees.

Chris Rock has not been shy about labeling Hollywood racist, once going so far as to call Los Angeles “a slave state” and calling showbiz “a white industry.” But now the comedian finds himself front-and-center for the biggest controversy surrounding the Academy Awards in recent years, as celebrities and news outlets slam the Oscars for the lack of diverse nominees.
