Zodiac Signs | DIY Galaxy-Inspired Wall Decor for Stars Enthusiast
A Shimmering Wall Art for All Ages
Every night, stars show off their best gleam and luminosity up in the sky like performing for everyone staring at them. But have you ever tried putting those stars and constellation in your hands, and display it on your walls at home? Great idea, right? Well, this is also an easy and simple craft to do! So here’s a tutorial on how to make a wall adornment based on your zodiac signs.
In this project, you will need:
- canvas
- enlarged copy of your zodiac sign (or what you prefer to make)
- cutter
- pen (for poking small holes)
- lights (battery-powered)
- electrical tape
- paint pen
Now that you’ve prepared the materials, let’s begin!
Instructions:
Step 1: Canvas
Decide on what size of the canvas will you be using but preferably, a medium size canvas will do. Choose a dark colored fabric for your canvas to represent the night sky.
Step 2: Zodiac Sign
You can go online and figure out what astrological symbol are you making. For a more detailed illustration, you can enlarge the image and print it out. After printing, using a cutter or knife, cut out the excess borders from the symbol.
Step 3: Trace the Symbol
Place the cut out symbol on top of the canvas and trace around it with a pen or pencil or anything that is slightly visible on the canvas to create an outline.
Step 4: Poke holes
Once you’re done with the outline of your zodiac sign, it’s now time to poke holes where lights will be coming out. You can start at each corner of the sign where the points meet. Just make sure it’s clearly visible so that your design and the lights would not jumble up. You can also add more random holes just around the design.
Step 5: Add the Lights
Battery-operated lights best work for this craft. Begin placing each light into the hole you created a while ago and seal it down with an electrical tape. Make sure to use electrical tape just to keep this project safe and so that nothing catches on fire.
Step 6: Paint Pen
Using an oil-based paint pen, draw lines connecting each hole from another which will look like little stars that we made using the lights. Just connect everything together, like illustrating your symbol again and once it’s done, it will look like a constellation.
Voila!
Hooray! So there you have it! That’s everything you have to do for your galaxy-inspired wall decor.
