For busty women, the struggle is real.
Busty Woman? Check Out These Fashion Tips
Trust me, I understand how tough it is to put an outfit together with big breasts. Even if it fits everywhere else, it doesn’t fit in the chest area. And when it does fit the chest area, it doesn’t look flattering in other places. The struggle is real when it comes to finding clothes that fit and that fit right. That’s why clothing lines are starting to release collections designed specifically for women with big boobs, like this one here.
Truth is, busty women do have to make some sacrifices when it comes to fashion choices. But I’m here to help guide you on which sacrifices are actually worth it. Sometimes, you don’t really have to give up your favorite pieces, it will just need some tweaking here and there to make it work for your body.
Ready to change your world? Let’s go:
1. Full Support Brassiere

I want to start with this because I think this is the most important piece of clothing that every busty woman should have. It makes a world difference wearing the right bra and bra size.
For big-chested women, you should always wear a full-support and full-coverage bra. It should be something comfortable. It may be best to wear something that won’t give your breasts an additional boost like those push-up bras. That will just accentuate the chest part even more and you don’t need that. The best thing about wearing a full-coverage bra is that it gives the breasts a shape that will help make clothes more flattering on you.
2. Going Up A Size

Seeing this photo of a longsleeve button-down shirt may already make you cringe. But ladies, you don’t have to avoid this piece of clothing like a plague anymore. It’s all about getting the right size.
Even though you like the fit on the other parts of the torso, you are better off getting a size or two bigger to make sure the shirt fits the chest area. Although the other parts will be a bit loose, what you can do is fold the sleeves and then tuck in the shirt to make for a more balanced look. At least now, finally, you can close those buttons up and not bust out!
3. The Potato Sack
You see this loose dress, you actually don’t see what goes on underneath and this is the kind of dress you’d like to wear to disperse the weight on your chest. The thing is, your chest area has more width than other parts of your torso and what you’re gunning for is something to balance your torso out and this dress perfectly does that!
Fashion experts call this the potato sack syndrome, in which the woman feels like she’s wearing a potato sack due to its looseness. Sounds like a bad name but in reality, you must embrace it. It’s great for the breasts since you don’t have to try and fit yourself in a tighter piece of clothing. It’s also great for the torso in general as it’s a dress that is comfortable.
4. Almost-Closed Blazer

When it comes to blazers, it feels like its the same case with the long-sleeve button-down — you just can’t get it to close! But with blazers, it’s actually worse because if you try to close it, it will look like your breasts are gasping for air every time you move.
What we say is just don’t close it… in the chest area that is. For one, it is a futile effort and it will just make the outfit look bad. Second, it draws more width to the chest area. Last, you don’t need to close it up there and just keep the blazer barely closed, which actually makes the look lengthier as opposed to wider.
5. Colors and Silhouette
Alright, you can’t wear potato sacks forever, right? True! However, we didn’t say that you should avoid wearing fitted dresses altogether. Yey!
With bodycon and fitted dresses, there’s only one thing to remember and that is getting the right color and silhouette. Look at the photo above, the curved lines along the side of the dress takes away from the width of the chest area. The dark colors also help tone down the wideness. This is a great dress for you. Be sure to stay away from horizontal lines and bright colors, especially in the bust area.
6. Show Some Cleavage

And why not? If you got it, flaunt it! But seriously, showing some cleavage will also help relieve some width off your chest area. Instead of trying to cover everything with clothing that actually makes the chest area look fuller and bigger, show some cleavage from time to time and let those babies breathe!
7. Yes to Turtlenecks
Sure, busty women avoid turtlenecks because it hugs the chest firmly making it look fuller and bigger. But we say, you’re probably wearing the wrong one.
You can wear turtlenecks but it will be best to go for looser ones instead. Naturally, fitted tops will bring more attention to the chest area, but with a turtleneck pullover, it just makes the entire look more relaxed. Thus, removing pressure off the chest area too. By the way, go for solid lines and avoid ribbed fabric that gives the appearance of stretch.
8. Straight-Cut Pants
When it comes to bottoms, there’s that same concept. If you wear fitted bottoms like leggings and skinny jeans with a fitted top, this will obviously make the chest area stand out. But since we do not like that, we try to balance things. If you’re going tight on top, go for loose pants. If you’re going loose on top, go fitted on the bottom.
But if you’re someone who is going for an andrgynous look, which feels like its impossible for curvy women, you are better off with straight-cut pants with clean and crisp lines.
Just because you have big boobs doesn’t mean choosing outfits should be a near impossible task! It’s simply about knowing what kind of silhouettes, colors and lines to wear to make your looks work. And of course, again, get that perfect bra because it will make your life so much easier!
