What’s The Say On This Store: H&M Review

H&M > Forever 21. Who’s with me?!

I really do love H&M. The clothes are so well made for how affordable they are. Even the more expensive items are justified in my opinion. You better bet if you’re spending $60 on a sweater it will last for the entirety of your life. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but it will last a very long time.

Some items I’ve had terrible experiences with though. Not because of quality, but because of fit. I know no body is the same, so how could they possibly make sure their clothes fit everyone? It could even be the European sizing that I’m just not a fan of, I don’t know.

Here’s what IS worth your money and what is NOT:

Sweaters

One Store Review: H&M found at http://cuteoutfits.com/hm-review

I fell in love with H&M after purchasing a black cardigan that I still have. It’s thick, durable, comfy, soft, and it only cost me $20. You read that right, $20. After that, I was hooked. I’ve probably purchased 10+ sweaters from them over the years and each one is amazing, without fail.

One thing I especially love about their sweaters is the color scheme. The whole store doesn’t really sell bright colored clothing, which I really appreciate. Their sweaters usually come in black (always), cream, grays, muted pinks, olive greens, etc. Basically, muted classic tones. I don’t wear a lot of color, so their sweater color options never disappoint.

If you find a sweater you like at H&M, buy it in every single color. You won’t regret it.

Jeans/Pants

Remember when I told you I have a problem with some of their clothing’s fit. I was referring to their pants and jeans. They fit me terribly. I’ve tried about 4 different sizes, and every pair somehow fits weird. The jeans, the pants, it all fits weird.

This is just my experience, I’m sure some people really love their jeans. However, I don’t have any friends that have jeans from there. I can live without their jeans, but I wish their nice black slacks fit me. They’re so affordable for the quality!

Skirts/Dresses

I’ve had way better luck with their skirts and dresses, so that’s a plus! Just like their sweaters, H&M’s skirts and dresses are great quality. I bought a skirt that was on sale for $10 once and it was surprisingly thick and well made. Most of their dresses are more of a modest length, perfect for work!

Shoes

I can’t really say much about their shoes since I’ve never bought a pair. I’ve found that most of their shoes aren’t in stores, just online. I’m sure bigger stores carry more shoes but my local store has a bleak selection. I’ve always been intrigued by their boots, but they’re all so expensive in my opinon. If you’ve tried their shoes, let me know what you think!

For now, my guess is as good as yours if they’re good or not.

Jewelry

I love H&M’s jewelry. They keep up with current trends and it’s a notch above Forever 21’s jewelry in terms of quality. They have a good mix of silver and gold based finds which I like. I used to be more of a silver gal, but now I lean towards gold. You can find both at H&M!

Jackets

I think H&M’s jackets are the second best item they sell only behind sweaters. Their winter jackets, their faux leather jackets, their furry vests, all their outerwear is unbeatable. I purchased my faux leather jacket from the fast fashion store about 3 years ago and it’s still going strong. It looks and feels like the real thing. I get compliments almost every time I wear it! I’ve also had great luck with their winter coats, which usually come in a variety of shades which I appreciate.

My sister purchased a fur vest from there last year and it’s probably the coolest thing she owns. She wore it to a media event and we couldn’t walk three feet without someone complimenting her. It must have been a hit with others too because it was a part of their Winter collection in 2015 as well! The exact vest seems to be sold out on the website, but here’s to hoping it returns at the end of the year!
