5 Homecoming Dance Scenes We Love From Our Favorite Flicks

September 15, 2016 By Perry Belcher Leave a Comment

Looking for inspiration for the homecoming dance in your beloved school? Make this event more memorable with these scenes from your all-time favorite movies!

Homecoming is a celebration most of the students (and alumni) look forward to. Aside from the sports events and week-long activities, it’s also a time for the whole university to come together, reminisce the good ‘ol days, and just have fun! It’s a fun-filled celebration of the achievements and talents of the students.

5 Homecoming Dance Scenes We Love From Our Favorite Flicks

Whether you’re attending it with your friends or special someone, you’ll never have a dull moment, especially during the homecoming dance. This day is gonna be a blast of memories, laughter, and cheers.

No wonder why some of our favorite movies add homecoming and homecoming dance scenes to their plot. Aside from the genuine feeling of ‘coming back’ to your campus, there’s just something about homecoming that makes it a special event.

Prepare to move and groove with these must-watch movies with homecoming dance scenes:

1. Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky and was put to big screen last 2012. It is a touching tale of love, doubts, fear and immeasurable friendship from the people who come across our path. In the movie, Emma Watson nailed the dance floor as she moved her body through the music in their homecoming.

2. Back to the Future

If you’re thinking of having a band to play for your homecoming, you’ll probably have a theme of Back to the Future to your university party. Electrify the school community with those guitars and drums on-beat!

3. Mean Girls

Aside from the struggle of being a first-timer in high school and facing the social rules happening among teenagers, Mean Girls also gave the essence of beauty in another perspective. In Lindsay Lohan’s speech after winning the crown, she said (with confidence) that the crown is meaningless and everyone who played a part in their event deserves it too.

4. Grease

Grease is a favorite musical of mine ’til now. Did you know that it’s the highest-grossing movie musical of all-time? No wonder– ’cause John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John seemed to enjoy every beat of music during their homecoming dance!

5. It’s A Boy Girl Thing

Another movie with a Rom-Com genre is It’s A Boy Girl Thing. Aside from the struggle of being in your enemy’s body, who would forget that poetic line during the homecoming dance? (I’m no Shakespeare!) But yeah, if you’re into a formal setting for your homecoming dance, take inspiration from this movie.

Here are some tips from Brooklyn and Bailey on how to prepare for your Homecoming Dance:

Heading off to your homecoming dance? I’ve nothing to say but have fun, ladies! Just enjoy making new memories with your girls and school buddies. Do you have memorable experiences to share during your recent university homecoming? Feel free to speak out by leaving a comment below.
