Looking for the perfect professional outfit to balance hot and cold? What do you do when the walk from your car to your office makes you sweat, but the inside AC makes you regret that cute summer skirt? From the sweltering summer heat to the frozen tundra of the office, picking out an outfit for your job during the summer can be a little tricky. My favorite solution to this problem is layering – my mom’s favorite advice was: “Always bring a sweater”.
Below I’ve got some great tips for the working professional to battle the polarity of summer heat in and out of the office.

Professional Outfit Wardrobe Tip For Summer
For women, I feel the common problem is staying warm in the freezing office (which is where my mom’s advice comes into play) bringing a sweater is the easiest way to beat that cold office. I usually pair my sweater, jacket or blazer with a thinner loose blouse to stay cool when outside. I love pairing neutrals with a statement shoe makes me feel a little more sassy – I am currently obsessed with the color of these from Genuine People. As much as I love the color black this little pop helps keeps the outfit light and summery.
Ladies take note, Your men will LOVE this stay-cool summer secret…
For men it isn’t as easy to layer up and still be comfortable, their problem seems to be staying cool while outside and on the move. I would suggest a thinner dress shirt and loosely woven pant. Word on the street is that Tommy John has the best solution to a few layering issues with their no adjustment needed men’s underwear.
And that’s my brief summer tip for you! I hope you stay cool, but also stay fabulous!
