Let’s start with the no-brainer reason, a guy best friend knows what you want. Right from which flavored donut you to prefer, to what kind of wedding you’d like to have in the future. The “getting to know” part of dating will be skipped over because guess what, you’ve been doing that for a long time already!

2. You have the same beliefs

Being best friends give you that special connection. It’s what makes you compatible. Most of the time you’ll realize you actually have the same beliefs and opinion on things. This is essential in a romantic relationship as it makes you less prone to arguing about serious stuff like religions, views on feminism and such.

3. Your families approve of each other

Your parents have probably been teasing and asking why haven’t dated each other yet. There’s a reason why your parents favor each other — they think that person is good for you. Believe in that trust they have for your best friend and you’ll realize that they’re actually right. (yet again)

4. Being with each other is natural

The familiarity of being with a person you’ve known and bonded with for a long time is priceless. You don’t just want to spend time with him, it’s now deep in your nature, like instinct. There’s no need to fight for his attention because his attention is all your already.

5. You have resolved your differences

Despite your compatibility, you still have a few things that you have totally different opinions on. But as best friends, it doesn’t matter as much because you love each other beyond your differences. Isn’t that something nice to behold?
