The Fall season is also election season and more and more people are given reasons to vote. Recent events have shown heated discussions about which side to vote for and which Presidential candidate to elect as the leader of the free world.
I won’t lie. Sometimes hostile environments arise when political conversations are started and at times it’s easier to keep mum to avoid conflict. What’s important though is to stand your ground and know the values you stand for. It’s about knowing the ideas you have a strong belief in and putting pen to paper to help turn them into a reality. That, ladies, is one of the true essences when it comes to voting. It’s about making a difference, one ballot at a time.
10 Reasons To VOTE and Make Your Voice Count
Whether or not you’re decided on whose name it is to mark on the ballot, it’s important to exercise your right to vote. After all, the presidential election only comes once every four years. It would be a shame to miss out on the opportunity to do something great, not only for your country but for yourself as well.
Here are my 10 reasons to vote and make your voice count!
1. Every Vote Counts
I get it, sometimes one vote just doesn’t feel like it can make a difference. But the thing is, if a group of people feel the same way and end up not voting come election day, that’s a whole lot of votes missed — which could be the difference between laws passed and global negotiations made.
Every vote counts, ladies. Sometimes one vote is all it takes to change the future.
2. It’s Your Right

America is a democratic country. That being said, voting exercises your right to independence. It shows the volume your voice has and the power of your choices. You’re privileged enough to be given a right to vote, and it’s only fitting to take advantage of it come voting day!
3. You’re “Adulting”
As you’d already know by now, “adulting” means having more experiences and taking on more responsibilities. One of these new responsibilities is exercising your right to vote.
Yes, being an adult is amazing. You’ve traded Friday party nights for homemade dinners and desserts and you’ve practiced your organizational skills to a T. But remember, there are so many more opportunities that the world has to offer, ladies! Don’t miss out on one of them this month!
4. See The Change You Want To See
Voting gives you a foot in the door in seeing the changes you want to see. Whether you’re passionate about women’s rights, healthcare, or education plans, your vote is one of the first steps to take in making one of your dreams come true.
5. You Become More Informed
Once you realize your vote’s worth, you’re inclined to be more informed about the platforms your desired presidential party is pushing for. That includes stances on the Second Amendment, Immigration, and other policies that you may feel strongly about. They say that knowledge is power so read up on articles, watch reruns of debates and interviews, and make yourself a knowledgeable citizen.
6. You Become More Involved
Knowing more allows you to pick a side about the issues the country is faced with. More involvement on your end also makes you more passionate when it comes to fighting for things you believe in. Whether it’s joining a group that fights against domestic abuse or participating during pride week, it’s your want to do more that makes part of the difference.
7. You’re Part Of A Community

Being informed and getting involved imparts a sense of camaraderie. Now you’re more likely to see how certain decisions affect people from different communities. You’ll get to see what works and what doesn’t, what ideas would help further build the country, and what values it would bring in generations to come.
8. It’s Not Just About The President
Although the campaign period highly publicizes the presidential candidates, it’s important to remember that there are other positions too. Members of the senate as well as town leads will also be sworn into office. These are the people who have a say in the laws that are passed and the rules made in your local area, so don’t forget to look at their platforms and ideas as well.
9. Honor Your Country’s History
A key thing to note here is that in the past, women had to fight for the privilege that we have today — to be able to vote in the elections. If our ancestors past had fought tooth and nail to give us something of value, it’s only fitting that we honor them by voting wisely this month of November.
10. Future Generations Depend on You
As said earlier, elections come every four years. Those four years can either mark highlights and milestones or mistakes of the administration. That being said, no matter who the president will be after elections are done, we have to be aware that his/her decisions will affect our families — I’m talking about our future sons, daughters, and even grandchildren.
