Stella McCartney is NOT having it.
Watch Out, Steve Madden! Stella McCartney is hot on your tail and she won’t take this matter sitting down. McCartney is suing Madden over a handbag knockoff and she’s filed a legal complaint against Madden for “trade dress infringement, unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, trade dress dilution, and design patent infringement.” Sounds like some serious stuff and we’d hate to be Steve Madden right now.

Stella McCartney Sues Steve Madden Over Handbag Knockoff
Steve Madden has been hit with yet another intellectual property lawsuit – this time by British designer Stella McCartney. On Tuesday, the 44-year-old designer filed a complaint against Steve Madden with the Southerndistrict of New York accusing the lower-priced brand of knocking off one of her most “well-known and enormously popular” handbag styles.

WOW! I think McCartney is right on the money here. It is clearly a knockoff of her Falabella bag (top photo) and no judge can turn a blind eye on this one. Moreover, Madden has gotten into legal trouble before as well when it comes to copying other designer’s works… which I think is totally unethical, unprofessional and so uncool.
