Getting ready for the sweater weather? ‘Tis definitely the season to dig up your warm and cozy sweaters from the closet ’cause fall season is officially here. Take advantage of the warm and fuzzy vibes of the season ’cause there’s more to do than just watching the leaves fall from your window, ladies!
As the school year opens and the days get shorter, many of us tend to look for some thrill and excitement while enjoying the vibrant foliage. I can’t blame you for that adrenaline rush, though ’cause autumn flies by in a jiffy and you can’t help but catch it! There’s actually no shortage of fun things to do and see during fall, whether it’s indoors or away from home. Forget about your ‘I’m so bored‘ dramas and take hold of your #YOLO moments!
7 Things You Should Do Now That It’s Sweater Weather
Sweater weather is the best time to unleash the wanderlust in you and enjoy the best of the season ’til it lasts. From fruit picking to traveling and even shopping, the fall season is the perfect time to explore and do them all. I, for one, enjoy going to different states (read: New York) because flights are cheaper this season and sip my fave Fall drink, Pumpkin Spice Latte. If you’re still having a hard time planning your fall bucket list, check out these things that you might want to add (and do) this sweater weather.
1. Go for walk in the park
For nature lovers and chill seekers out there, you’ll probably enjoy a walk in the park, literally. Yes, crispy golden leaves are everywhere ’cause it’s fall but there are some leaves that are worth experiencing face to face. Also, it won’t hurt your social media account to post at least a picture (or two) of you surrounded by these majestic leaves, right? You can also pick a few pinecones along your walk and use them as a centerpiece or a home decor.
2. Enjoy apple picking
Is there something better than eating an apple you pick yourself, right from its tree? Personally, I think that’s an experience like no other! But aside from the traditional fruit picking experience, different farms and orchards offer extra activities to make your stay a remarkable one. Not to mention that it’s harvest season so expect lots of farm goodies!
3. Get lost in a corn maze
A corn maze is actually one of the ‘extra activities’ offered by some farms during fall. Some designs of the corn mazes are changed annually depending on ‘what’s hot’ for that year. Nevertheless, the thrill of completing it makes you linger for more mazes. Also, if you find yourself lost in the middle of the maze, don’t worry ’cause somebody’s out there to give you clues in tracking the right path.
4. Travel time!
If you lost the chance of beating the summer heat, well, maybe the cool air of autumn brings in the luck! Aside from the fall foliage of different cities (that’s really inviting!), the sweater weather also offers some perks to tourists and travelers. Who wouldn’t want lower hotel rates, free airline tickets, lesser people (unlike summer crowds) and best local experiences? It’s really irresistible to travel with these incentives, right? Perhaps, a drive in the city wouldn’t be enough.
5. Shop ’til you drop
Since the season is changing, it’s also time to adjust our outfit according to the weather. Aside from digging up your coats, blazers and furry boots from your closet, a little shopping can also be done for an updated OOTD. Since Christmas is just around the corner, you can also start doing your Christmas shopping list.
6. Attend a festival
Different cities have different festivals celebrated during fall. For beer fans, there’s Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Moreover, Burlesque Festival and Voodoo Music Experience happens in New Orleans. Lastly, Chicago has their Great Chicago Fire Festival that features fiery sculptures and acrobatics. If you love celebrations and partying all night long, better grab the opportunity of attending a fall festival.
7. Curl up in bed
I actually love being in bed most of the time whatever the weather is. But, I think that the sweater weather is the best time to just enjoy a cozy blanket, feel the cold autumn breeze and sleep, chill, or read a book for hours. You can also try doing a video marathon of your fave Youtube personalities doing challenges, tutorials or Q and A’s. Perhaps on a fall holiday or a weekend?
