If you’re a big movie buff like me, then you must know that 2016 is a huge year for movies! Yay! I’m so ecstatic about what’s coming out in the theaters soon.
Let’s end the chit-chat here and just watch the most anticipated movies of the year…they might as well just take all my money now!
1. Deadpool
The hilarious ass-kicker and bad-guy killer finally has his own movie and it’s coming out two days before Valentine’s Day, which I think is just too funny of a release date. But heck, I think it makes for a damn good date movie!
2. Zoolander 2
I must admit, Zoolander was a canon to me and I will never forget that movie. I’m really, really excited for part 2 to come out! C’mon Derek, show me that magnum one more time.
3. Zootopia
Who doesn’t like animated films with a full cast of cute furry animals? This is definitely a movie that the whole family should watch out for.
4. Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice
Another one on the top of my list is Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice. And why wouldn’t it be? You’ll get to see the two most popular superheroes of all time duke it out! Who do you think will win?
5. The Huntsman: Winter’s War
With Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen and Emily Blunt as the Ice Queen joining forces, I think that’s enough for me to watch the movie already. Not to mention, Chris Hemsworth is back as the hunstman. Done deal.
5. Captain America: Civil War
The third installment to the Captain America movie franchise will feature a division between the Cap himself and Iron Man, which will really divide the fans as well. It is so hard to pick a side on this one seeing that both superheroes are fan favorites…but I guess I’ll go with Captain America, and that’s because I love Chris Evans too much!
6. X-Men: Apocalypse
Way before Marvel came out with their superhero movies, my heart was so enveloped with the world of the X-Men mutants. That goes to say that this third installment to the new trilogy will definitely put me in the front of the line come May 27.
7. Warcraft
One of the most popular games ever made is World of Warcraft and finally, it is now coming to the big screen. However, I’m not so sure if it will be as great as the game, but what I’m sure is that curiosity will bring a lot of people to the movies for this one.
8. Independence Day: Insurgence
Can you still recall the original Independence Day movie with Will Smith? I think it was so bad-ass then! While I’m sad to know that Will Smith isn’t part of the movie now, I’m still excited to see what kind of alien story this movie has to offer.
9. Disney’s The BFG
The BFG is short for Big Friendly Giant and I think it’s a really great movie for the kids and adults alike. It brings me back to those days when I used to believe in fairytales and giants and I believe this movie will keep those stories alive in our hearts.
10. Star Trek Beyond
Two words. Chris Pine. Nuff said.
11. Suicide Squad
Aside from Dawn of Justice, this offering from Warner Bros. will definitely give Marvel a run for its money. Suicide Squad is a highly anticipated movie that features a team of villains, which is really an awesome plot if you think about it. And my goodness, how beautiful is Margot Robbie here?
12. Jack Reacher 2: Never Go Back
Not really sure why Jack Reacher is getting a sequel, but it is. Well, I enjoyed the first one but I find the ending to be off. Nonetheless, anything with Tom Cruise in it is a must-watch, at least for me (googly eyes).
13. Doctor Strange
The third offering from Marvel this year is Doctor Strange who will be played by the charming Benedict Cumberbatch. I can’t wait to see how our Sherlock Holmes pull off this character.
14. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Harry Potter fans will be lining up for the “prequel” to the Harry Potter series. If you’re a fan of the franchise, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a good movie to watch and reminisce the good ol’ Harry Potter days.
Did that get you pumped or what? I’m really looking out for the superhero movies because I just really, really love them. But if I have to choose my top one? It’s going to be Zoolander 2!
