13 Easy Halloween Costumes That Are Cool And Office-Approved
Halloween is one of my favorites! Not because I love anything horror-related — it takes me ages to get over a scary movie — but because I love dressing up! Costumes are such an escape for me; for one day, I get to be anyone and anything I want. This Halloween season, I’ll show you that costumes can be created from even the simplest clothes — some of which you might already have in your closet. All you’ll need are a few accents here and there, and you’re ready to go out trick or treating in style!
1. Bandit
I remember picking this costume when I had only a few hours left to spare. I had nothing ready and my room was a mess from scouring my closet with any clothes that could inspire me. That’s when I saw my black and white striped top. Suddenly, I had a lightbulb moment!
Another plus about this outfit is how it’s so wearable even on casual days — minus the gloves and mask, of course. It’s just so chic!
2. Mary Poppins
This outfit is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Phew. Try saying that 5 times fast.
Main staples here are a black skirt, a white button down, and black tights. Tie a pretty red ribbon as a collar and a belt, top off the look with hat, grab your bag, and you’re good to go!
3. Cat
This is a look that shows just how much fun makeup can be. I love experimenting with different cat eyes and I find it amazing how each swipe of eyeliner can create a different kind of feline.
4. Audrey Hepburn
Ahh, classy beautiful Audrey Hepburn who will always be remembered for her Breakfast At Tiffany’s role. She’s the reason for the iconic black dress, heels, and pearls look. If you pick this, don’t forget to have your hair done in an up do!
5. Ice Cream Cone
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! This cute and quirky costume will be a total conversation starter at the next Halloween party. Just look at those sprinkles!
6. Strawberry
Got a red dress and a pair of red heels that you’ve been wanting to wear? Put them on for Halloween and turn yourself into a strawberry! Top your head with a little DIY green hat. You’ll look major adorbs.
7. Cookie Monster
How can you resist this costume?! Cookie Monster would be so envious! Have a go at this look if you’ve a sweet tooth and can’t stop at just one cookie.
8. Snapchat Filters
My favorite Snapchat filters have turned into a reality thanks to these costumes! These are ingenious, incredibly easy to make, and perfect for this year’s Halloween. Speaking of, I’m actually thinking about making this my costume for my next party!
9. Greek Goddess
Be a vision in this beautiful greek goddess ensemble. Wear your prettiest flowy dress, strap on your gladiator sandals, and flash your winning smile for the cameras.
10. Rosie The Riveter
Sass and girl power make a statement in this costume. I love this look because it makes me feel strong and independent. The fact that I get to rock a red lip is a huge plus too.
11. Social Butterfly
Have your friends teased you for always scrolling on your social media? Turn the joke on them with this social butterfly look. Don’t forget to stick on your favorite apps!
12. Pirate
Rock this edgy pirate look this Halloween — sans a parrot. It’s one of the easiest costumes to have because not every pirate looks the same. It’s also more versatile since you can mix and match the items you already have on hand. You can even amp it up by putting a scar on your face with the help of makeup.
13. Cowgirl
If you’re a country girl at heart, then this is the costume for you. Slap on a cowboy hat, wear a button down, and work on practicing your accent!
