5 Simple Ways To Keep Your White Sneakers White

Clean, white sneakers are 2016’s biggest trend, if you ask me. They’re so simple and timeless yet they can turn any outfit into an edgy, street style-worthy look! But keeping my white sneakers white and clean, both literally and fashion-wise, has also proven to be one of my biggest problems this year. I almost freaked out when I saw a stain on my brand-new white kicks! Luckily, I emerged from this tough year stronger, smarter, and with my white sneakers white as snow. Here are some of the ways I kept my white sneakers white this year, and I hope they help you do the same!

1. Clean Them Regularly

Clean Them Regularly | Keep Your White Sneakers White With These Simple Tricks

This is a no-brainer hack: always make time to clean and keep your white sneakers white! If you see a spot, wipe it off as soon as possible. Keep magic erasers and wipes handy as well in case you step in a puddle or it suddenly rains. Then every week or every few days, use a rag dipped in vinegar or a toothbrush with mild soap to give your sneaks some TLC.

2. Store Your Sneaks Properly

Sunlight and exposure to the elements can also cause your white sneakers to fade or turn yellow. So when you’re not using them, keep your white sneakers white by storing them indoors or in a cool, dry place. Your shoe cabinet is there for a reason!

3. Touch-Up With White Nail Polish

This is one of my personal go-to hacks: if you’ve got a stain that won’t come off with soap and water (or vinegar), cover it up with white nail polish! It’s an easily accessible, convenient, and ingenious way to make your sneakers look brand new. No one will notice!
