I can’t even begin to tell you how happy the color burgundy makes me. I love it! I love burgundy hair, clothes, and footwear. And because I love it so much and think it is winter’s favorite color, I’m here to give you some tips on how to wear this luscious color this winter.
Really, what’s not to love about burgundy? It’s a mix of red, purple and pink–which are all lovely colors! Although burgundy is included in the realm of the darker shades, it is actually what makes it the best color for winter. It’s bold, full of life and still vibrant and honey, these are all the qualities we need to rock winter eh?
Here’s How You Can Rock Winter’s Favorite Color
The first thing to know about burgundy is that it can be easily paired with white, gray, black or beige, which is perfect because winter is all about these neutral colors. If you’re looking to level up your look without making it too bright, burgundy is the best way. The next thing you need to know is that…well, burgundy is simply awesome and you can’t have enough of this shade in your wardrobe, I tell ya! Are you ready to know how you can rock winter’s favorite color? Let’s begin.
1. Leather Moto Jacket
One of the things I love most in this life is burgundy leather. I love the mix of the leather’s edginess and the burgundy’s feminine side. Get a burgundy moto jacket to add some edge to a plain top and distressed skinny jeans. And you know what’s great about a moto jacket? You can pair it up with anything–dresses, skirts, shorts, tights, pants…you name it!
2. Robe Coat
We can’t live without coats this winter, which is why this beautiful robe coat in burgundy is a must-have in your winter wardrobe. It’s so feminine and chic! And it’s a great outerwear for any outfit you plan to pull off this season too. What a truly versatile piece we got right here!
3. Ankle Boots
What better way to incorporate burgundy into your footwear than with burgundy winter booties? Whether you like your boots at the ankle, knee-high, flats, heeled, suede or leather, burgundy is the best color to invest in this year. Nevermind if it’s daytime, nighttime, casual wear, office wear or party wear… I’m sure a pair of burgundy boots will always find its way into any outfit you choose.
4. Sweaters
This list won’t be complete without sweaters (come on, it’s winter!) so this is why you need a burgundy sweater girlfriend! Remember, there’s no such thing as winter without ribbed and knitted sweaters. So, invest in a warm burgundy sweater that is functional, but also super stylish!
5. Trench Coats
Planning an all black or white outfit? Dress it up with a beautiful burgundy trench coat that will instantly take your winter fashion game to new heights! What I love about trench coats is its classic style which helps me easily match it with anything I wear. I have one at home and I think it’s one of the best wardrobe investments I’ve made EVER! So please, do yourself a favor and get one this winter season (if you still don’t have one).
6. Trainers
Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you should stop working out (although that is a great excuse, now that I think about it). But if the chilly weather has you feeling down and uninspired to get your sweat on, take a look at these burgundy shoes which will instantly brighten your spirits and make you want to run! Or at least briskly walk.
7. Hats
Winter’s favorite color looks best on winter’s favorite accessory–hats! While we love our winter beanies, it’s time to replace them with burgundy brimmed hats that are meant to be worn over loose, wavy hair. Fabulous!
8. The Combo
One would think there’s a fine line to wearing too much gray, but the look above shows you that it’s possible and you can look fashion forward while doing it. From the vest, blazer, and skirt–everything works in harmony together. That’s one thing I really like about gray, you can mix and match the different shades and still look awesome (which I can’t say the same for the other colors)!
9. Purses
Okay, so maybe there are days you don’t like to wear anything burgundy with your clothes BUT you definitely want some burgundy on you. One of the options is to wear a burgundy purse! As I’ve mentioned above, burgundy leather is just lovely and that goes the same when it comes to purses. Don’t believe me, just check out the photo above!
10. Scarves
The need for a burgundy scarf is at an all-time high this winter season. Again, if you don’t like wearing burgundy elsewhere, just cover your neck with it and viola, you’re a burgundy baby already. I do suggest that you get a solid colored burgundy scarf for a bolder effect especially when wearing it over solid colors too.
11. Pants
Winter is all about tights and skinny pants…which just means that you must own burgundy pants. Honey, there’s no excuse for it. You just have to buy it! Don’t worry about matching it as long as you wear black, white, beige or gray, the burgundy pants should work!
12. Dresses
I know that winter fashion can be more on the rugged side since we’re usually layered and bundled up, but for days where you want to let your legs breathe, a beautiful burgundy dress is great to have. During winter, this is what I consider the lady’s LBD (Little Black Dress), except this time, we’re going for the LBD (Little Burgundy Dress).
